bullets13 Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) It's accurate. What's not accurate is your historical knowledge. Between 1864 and 1920 the parties effectively switched platforms. Before that, republicans were big government and social rights, while democrats were for small government and anti-rights. Republicans and democrats of today bear little resemblance to the parties you're referencing. Edited July 1, 2015 by bullets13 Quote
stevenash Posted July 1, 2015 Author Report Posted July 1, 2015 You can tell what my historical knowledge is by the question I asked? Quote
bullets13 Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I can if you're trying to pat the GOP's back for something that happened in the 1860s. With your political beliefs, you would've been a staunch democrat when each of the events that you're praising the GOP for perpetrating occurred. Quote
77 Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) If you remember all the oopla over Senator Byrd when he died. He was like the grand wizard in the KKK and they went on and on about the wonderful guy. Dems are the same ole bunch they have always been except more socialist and they have found a better way to keep the poor man poor and uneducated by disguising it as free handouts for unwed mothers and free intercity education!
