Just one of many i've read, no mention of "lobbying for immigrant workers" in any.

From the article: "Continued support for immigration reform that would permit US companies to hire more

has transformed into a mantra for Microsoft. The Redmond-based company has applauded the recent initiative from Barack Obama for convening a bipartisan meeting at the White House designed to focus on immigration reform."

That's the free market you love so much, they can hire imagrant workers for much less. It's good business.

Bill Gates no longer involved in the day to day operation at Microsoft

Do you honestly believe he isn't involved in major decisions in the company?  Big difference between "day to day operations" and no involvement.  I am sure he trusts all will be well with his 80 billion.

In my opinion, the layoffs were not a decision in which he participated.  If he was involved in the decision, then he may not be as "compassionate" as you think he isand he believes in fiscal responsibility ( aka- layoffs instead of borrowing more money to keep a loser going)

Careful Nash.  You are starting to throw around trigger words without regard to context like your man Smitty.  And I know you aren't senile.  Yet ;)

I will stay out of that one.  As I've told you before, I know enough about you that I don't believe you're a racist.  But as I've also said, there comes a point where as Shakespeare said, thou dost protest too much.

I also firmly believe there are plenty on this site who would never have given this President a chance in part because of the color of his skin.  It is obvious in the vitriol they spew.  As far as this issue and others involving, at least on the periphery "reverse discrimination," I think it's a load of crap and a way for white people to divert any issues of discrimination and voice their displeasure over any special treatment of men and women of color.

In truth, I have not the foggiest clue what it's like to experience racism or truly to be discriminated against because of the color of my skin. And I doubt you or many other Caucasians on this board have either.

Hmmm- I was thinking that the President was supposed to represent all of the people and, as a result, equal treatment, concern, etc was one of the benefits this country would enjoy from this administration.  Just an opinion from one who believes that sexist, racist, homophobe are now very trite and hackneyed descriptions/accusations.

Call them out...who is spewing the vitriol based on race and not on ideology?

If it's that obvious I'm sure you can provide their racist posts for proof..

i respect your opinion and agree with your point in theory.  In practice, this does not happen on either side of the ballot.  But no one loves or appreciates an idealist more than me.

It's not that difficult to see.  The thing is, very few people believe they are a racist or a bigot.  The ones who do are the idiots wearing it on their sleeves.

But I will pass on calling anyone out.  Not my place to do so.  And hey, I hope I am wrong!

Hoops, I do enjoy your posts, but I do disagree here. I honestly believe most don't give a flip about our Presidents skin color. I hate him because he is a crooked, lying, Musloid socialist. I really don't care about his pigmentation.

While I might not have experienced racism like some others have, I've been told that I didn't get a job because they needed more minorities. I understand that the world is not fair, so I'm not complaining.  I just think your generalizations are wrong.

Moved here few years back to be close to GK's.  Wow, impressive gym.  Although small, take BB serious (actually, good Ath. program).

Absolutely.  Love the gym and watching the kids play.  They had a really fun team to watch last year and I expect the same this year.  And as I said, salt of the earth fans.

    • Sorry sir on my miss count. I was in hurry
    • Are they offering refuge to criminals? Or is it a Trump talking point? Refugees are people who leave their country due to unwarranted prosecution. I actually take care of 2 refugee kids who have complex medical needs   No, refugees are not criminals, and the assumption that they are more likely to be criminals than the general population is incorrect:                                                                                          Research shows immigrants commit crimes at lower rates Immigrants in the United States commit crimes at lower rates than the U.S.-born population, including unauthorized immigrants. This is true across immigrant groups.                  Immigration doesn't raise crime rates Immigrants don't raise crime rates in the communities where they settle. In fact, some studies suggest that immigration can lower crime rates, especially violent crime.                  Anti-immigration politicians have spread a myth Anti-immigration politicians have repeatedly tried to link immigrants to crime, but research shows this is a myth.                  Refugees don't cause crime in Turkey A study found that refugees don't have a causal effect on crime rates in Turkey. In fact, the study found that refugees may have a negative effect on crime rates per capita.
    • I think it's actually the first time ever to get past the second round. Some older folks might try to tell you about Scott High but I wasn't here when that school was around 😆
    • Smith is 78-31 overall and 18-8 in the playoffs. His first three years he went 23-15 overall and 6-3 in playoffs. His Silsbee teams are averaging making 3rd round every year in his 9 years as head coach.
    • Wishing everyone a great Thanksgiving!
