oldschool2 Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 Good read. I know that one of the most obvious differences is post play. I think that once an American kid gets labeled as a post player, their youth coach puts their back to the basket. That's good and all...but it's no coincidence that European post players can actually shoot free throws and American post players suck. It's because overseas EVERY player is taught how to shoot..handle the ball..make finess passes. Too much about athleticism, dunking, snowbirding...etc. going downhill fast. dont get me wrong...I love watching freak athletes play the game well. But..something will never change. Shoot, handle the ball, pass, defend. Like LJ said...something is being left out somewhere. BADSANTA and Mr. Buddy Garrity 2 Quote
BLUEDOVE3 Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 WHATTTT!!!! Bron's son plays in the same organization my kids use to play in as 4th - 6th graders. LOL!!!! Quote

BUT!!!!! 99.9% of all the kids who were drafted into the NBA this year (last year, da year befoe dat and so on) played AAU. Quote
TxHoops Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 The irony is how poor the overall coaching in the NBA is now. Coaches are overpaid cheerleaders who watch their players consistently walk the ball up the court, isolate, and play 1 on 1. Kids also like to emulate what they see on TV. whsalum Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 Lets not get what we see in the NBA confused with basketball !!! TxHoops, Honest Abe, no-look and 1 other 4 Quote

TxHoops Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Back to original subject of thread, since LeBron's son will receive attention regardless, and since at 11, he already holds offers (including Kentucky), I think LeBron should pull the kid from AAU ball permanently. And there is no doubt in my mind he won't... Quote
BLUEDOVE3 Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Oh, he's gonna continue to play AAU..LOLNecessary evil TxHoops 1 Quote
