Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 He was on his way out anyway from what I've been reading. What a way to go out though. That kinda stuff follows you to whatever network you work for in the future. He already had a lil bit of a reputation of bordering that thin line sorta speak. Quote
77 Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 I dont see anything wrong with it , he said they have not had the opportunity for education others have had. Just a reason for some liberal somewhere to get his panties in a wad. Quote
PAMFAM10 Posted July 25, 2015 Author Report Posted July 25, 2015 I liked him he seemed to like talking politics. He's been rumoured to start or join a political style show for years now. Quote
BS Wildcats Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Was leaving at end of year for Fox Sports 1. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
HurricaneCal Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 He made his living at ESPN by being somewhat controversial his entire time. He basically puts his two weeks notice in because he's going to fox and gets canned by ESPN. This way they can say they got rid of him. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

TxHoops Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 I don't know. I got the point he was making and he wasn't incorrect about the educational situation there. Can take ESPN radio off of my presets now. The only reason I listened during the day was The Herd.. Quote

Just a reason for some liberal somewhere to get his panties in a wad. What he said is the truth. Kids can be drafted at 16 in foreign countries and most are in baseball academies full time way before that. The Dominican and other Hispanic countries see baseball as their way out, not education. These baseball academies put very little emphasis on anything other than baseball. Kids going pro at 16 don't have near the education or life experiences of an American college kid or even an 18 yr old HS graduate. Until the MLB changes the draft rules for foreign born players this will continue to be the case. 77 1 Quote
