man I should have known better than pick WOS as 10pt underdog! You can throw all the stats and everything else out the window when you play the Stangs! Hat off to the offense and defense of WOS and a big shout out to the QB-JD he is definitely one of a kind! #madeabelieveroutofme

One thing I known about these kids coming up in youth football was that........  They where coachable kids that always carried a chip on there shoulders & and THEYHATED too lose. Down this journey since the AGE of 5  until now. As a Team (Brotherhood) they Took devastated Loses ( STJFL Flag Superbowl) (STFL 1Year Jr.  Tackle) (Pop Warner (1Game Before Nationals)  (BC 7th Grade) & THE STATE Game!  They learned there weakness about themselves over the years, in each one of those loses... .  But worked hard at not making the same mistake twice.. I know they Young to alot of people but this is the moment this Brotherhood been waiting, and grinding for this since the age of  5.  Im so proud of these kids, keep working hard to get better each day & earning youll  respect because you'll know it's not giving.

What's up with the Crosby trolling?  I'm sure Cornel would be happy to put them on the schedule when the next 2 yrs schedules are set.  He is always looking to play up and test his boys.  Problem is, he usually has trouble getting the bigger schools to re-up after the first 2 years because they don't like to get beat by a smaller school.  Except for PNG. 

Apparently you can't read either, lemme break it down Coogs 52 Stark 0. That would be the final. No trolling just extracting and taunting some payback like the rest of you people have done. BUT, I am sure your coach would feel differently.  He doesn't want any part of the Stangs.  You guys are a bit fragile and couldn't handle getting beat down by 4A, DII school like WOS.

PNG had more guys cramping up than what was on WOS bench. I would have expected it to be the other way around with WOS guys going both ways. The old school coaches over at WOS still condition like the old days. A few years back we practiced softball across the street from WOS practice and you could hear the collisions going on throughout their practice. Im not so sure instead of sending our coaches to these colleges to see what their doing is the right thing to do. Try going watch a WOS practice and you will learn how to hit. No disrespect towards PNG coaching staff but they do not line their guys up in practice and get after it. Its ran like a college practice. That's where (practice) you learn how to be physical! A PNG practice is nice to see with how organized it is but nothing physical about it. At the end not a whole lot of running either. Just my take. Get these guys in shape!

That's too bad cause I hear the ones they give out east of the Trinity are real exemplary. Hence all the Forbes 500 businesses flocking to the triangle to setup shop. We can hypothetically match Crosby v West Orange    ( always wondered the West distinction since it's such a metropolis) all day long but the reality is Coach T is very cunning at football and knows how to schedule preseason games so Crosby won't be on his list.

Agreed, I've said it for years they never get after in practice. Never seen so many kids cramping!!! And yes our Defensive Philosophy SUCKS!!! I am a BF Supporter, but you need to change your soft practices and get after it with tackling drills!! Wished we had a DJ Schex on defense.

As my post last night said,in a nice way..... WOS runs a better program period..... It appeared we where out of shape, and we all know defensively we are soft... Some things don't change. It might be that expectations are to high. I've stated, and been bashed, several times that a DC is what we should be striving for. District is going to be tough. The style of play makes it that way. Finnesse football is great if you want to toot your horn on the front page of the football program... But it doesn't add up to wins... I think it pains most of us just because we played solid defense for the eternity of PNG football.  In comes this guy, and we flip it to offense... That's why they call it a system... Andre Ware, remember him... Video game numbers.... I think we still have a shot at winning the DC.... as usual the district appears to be weak.. No,defense is being played, and numbers are video gameish... We don't have a DJ Shex, and the practices will sadly stay the same........ But I think sometimes you have to be realistic, and that is winning enough games  to contend for a DC, and making the playoffs.... The rah rah section is currently closed after last night, so let's get real and try to get better and win a few....... Hats off to WOS....... Your better, and usually are....... Let's learn something out of it............

Mustangs’ defense blossoms, slows down Indians

PORT NECHES — If West Orange-Stark’s defense has been in rebuild mode early in the season, the unit is quickly growing up.
“It’s grown a lot,” senior defensive tackle Jalen Powdrill said. “We practiced hard throughout the week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday … and then Friday, we made it come together. We stayed together. Thanks to God, we did it.”
Two forced fumbles and an interception helped keep Port Neches-Groves in check on its home field, and Jack Dallas threw for 179 yards and a touchdown in pacing the
4A fifth-ranked Mustangs to a 28-14 victory before a nearly packed house inside The
Reservation.
WO-S coach Cornel Thompson can rest easy for at least another week, knowing his
Mustangs defense rose to the challenge and slowed down a 5A team that posted 52 points at Clear Lake six days earlier.
“Our guys got better tonight, and I’m proud of them,” Thompson said. “They gave a great effort. They came out in the second half and gave a heck of an effort. It paid off for us.”
PN-G quarterback Adam Morse completed 17 of 36 passes for 219 yards with an interception. He also threw for a touchdown and ran for another.
But the Mustangs held the Indians to four first downs in the second half before
Justin Brown put the finishing touch on the win with a 14-yard touchdown run with
53 seconds remaining.
“I thought we had our opportunities, but we missed some,” Indians coach Brandon
Faircloth said. “Too many turnovers, too many mistakes on offense and defense tonight. When you don’t score in the red zone and you have turnovers, you’re not going to win the game.”
The Mustangs took back control to start the second half after forcing Morse into three straight incomplete passes, including one on fourth-and-9 from the WO-S 29.
From there, WO-S went 71 yards and broke a 14-14 halftime deadlock on a 20-yard scoring pass from Dallas to Thomas Wallace, who had five receptions for 65 yards.
With a 7-0 lead, Mustangs defensive back Demorris Thibodeaux picked off Morse on the Indians’ opening series.
“We got after them pretty good with the wide receivers and being able to front those guys up,” Thompson said. “They’ve got a lot of weapons, so we were going to try to take a couple of them out of the game. But they used some other ones, now.”
Almost two minutes earlier, Keion Hancock (eight receptions, 107 yards) ran six yards for the Mustangs’ first touchdown. He hauled in a 26-yarder from Dallas on the first play from scrimmage, starting an 82-yard, eight-play drive.
PN-G’s defense had its share of success in the first half, forcing WO-S to three three-and-out series.
Indians receiver Jack Giblin fought off a tackler from the 4 and barreled into the end zone on an 18-yard reception to even the score at 7 with 3:59 left in the first quarter. But the Mustangs’ Kentavious Miller answered with a 72-yard kickoff return from his own goal line, and WO-S capitalized five plays later on an 11-yard run by Malick Phillips.
A holding penalty and face mask call against WO-S on the next drive aided PN-G’s drive. Caisen Sullivan caught a 19-yard pass from Morse on fourth and 11 to the
Mustangs’ 19 at the end of the opening quarter, but three plays later Kody Cropper fumbled at the end of an 8-yard run near the goal line.
Morse ran into the end zone standing up with 5:46 left before the break to tie the game. On the Indians’ next series, Keynel McZeal, who had four catches for 56 yards, coughed up the ball on a 22-yard reception and lost the ball at the Mustangs’ 31.
Giblin had five receptions for 75 yards and Cropper rushed 18 times for 73.
“We play West Orange-Stark to help us get better,” Faircloth said. “They’re a great team. This is a non-district game. We still have all our goals in front of us. It’s a long season.”

Chapel Hill in 2 weeks. They're ate up with injuries. Lost pretty big to Whitehouse. Not going to be a hard game to win, good time to tweak a few things and get rolling before district.

Based on stats, it was an evenly matched game, except where it counts of course. PNG stood out in turnovers and penalties though. Got to clean that up come district.

Nobody conditions like WOS and it shows. Parents at other schools would be kicking screaming and crying if their baby's had to train like WOS  that's why they are so dang tough. Hats off to the Stangs.

Congrats to WOS.  They never cease to amaze me.  Beating a good 5A team like PNG is just another example of an excellent program, Coaches, and kids.  

To the PNG fans, be content that your Indians will get it all together when they play Vidor.

Agree, several key drops. The last one where Mczeal was wide open, Morris just lead him too much. That would have been a well needed shot in the arm. I, being the great arm chair coach I am, would have the wide receivers catch 1000 passes a day in every scenario. But hey, that's why we play these games. To improve. Defense did good and will only do better as we go along. I know a lot of those kids on defense and that really work hard.

I didn't find our D was soft. Thought they were tackling pretty good. It's the teams with speed that are going to get us. I understand why we line up so far off, but we're getting burned anyway, why not get in their face.
