NDNation Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 tradition. The old woe is me trick. Exactly!!!!5 Year reigning district champs, cut the mess. Quote
rvbulldogs Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 I'm just going by what I've seen. Crosby and Dayton put up the yards and points on us. WOS in the scrimmage moved the ball on us. I feel the offense is gonna be good but can't afford mistakes because of having to out do the opposition.I will be there cheering the dogs on hoping they prove me wrong. Go Dogs!!! Hagar 1 Quote
PlayActionPass Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 This one will be close throughout. I don't see NED blowing anybody out. They are counting on Defense to continue the District Championship run. This might be a mistake. Vidor will be tough to stop or even slow down. Only advantage fro NED is they have seen the Slot-T for years now and have a game plan for it. I expect a nip and tuck affair that goes down to the wire.NED 42Vidor 40 Quote

NDNation Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Ned has proven they can put up some points. Vidor won't be able to match that, even if they prove a handful for the Bulldog D. I bet both sides rack up the penalties though. Quote
godawggo Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 I don't think we expect to blow them out of the water. We can score, we just need to work on stopping the other team from scoring. Quote
mytwocents-28 Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 It's gonna come to two things. Penalties and turnovers. If Vidor doesn't turn the ball over and limits the penalties then they win if they don't then they lose. That's how I see it. KF89, Mr. Buddy Garrity and QueenPirate 3 Quote
NDNation Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Keep Neds Offense off the field and wear down their D Quote

I say Vidor plays mistake free, but Nederland Defense wins the game. Quote
Olddog Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Unless Vidor has added Airforce to the battle plan the slot T won't get it done in the end . You don't need home runs , just a few quick slants to someone with quick , does not have to be speed just sure handed and the O could be deadly . I'm really surprised that people who like to run it haven't explored the possibilities more . Much like the original run n shoot. It could be almost unstoppable as long as execution is perfect even with less than average athletes in a down year . Quote
Olddog Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Anyway Dogs by 10 in a track meet . Quote
_chorizo11 Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 I'll say krautz wins that track meet... Mr. Buddy Garrity and bigned85 2 Quote
Olddog Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Me too talk about quick and then fast too ! Deadly force in a finesse package ! Quote
daddy23 Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 I think the Pirates may not throw a pass all night long. My heart wants to pick the Pirates. History would merit picking the Dogs. But those of you who are saying that the Pirates have to pass to win tomorrow, let me say in the Spirit of Yogi. You don't have to throw the ball to win, you just have to score more points than the other team! Hagar 1 Quote

I doubt there's many that have watched a good slot T being ran that wouldn't say "they watched the wrong running back" during a game. So if you have a qb who can also pass, awesome. But even as good an athlete as MQ was, passing wasn't his strong suit. IMO Manziel would be a perfect slot T qb. Just hard to find guys like that. Quote
Razor Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Probably lower scoring than most think...vidor is going to want to take the air out of the ball and shorten the game and Nederland's defense may give into that a bit...I'm thinking the Dog D will bend but not break, the pirates commit too many turnovers/penalties and the Nederland offense eventually takes this one over.Dogs 28vidor 20 Quote

What ticks me off, that seems to happen to often. Oh well, it's Friday (Praise the Lord) and I'm looking forward to keeping up with a lot of games. As always, hope both play their best, and NO injuries! Quote
prepballfan Posted September 25, 2015 Report Posted September 25, 2015 Was gonna go to this matchup to see our district foes. Then I remembered I have Van Halen tickets for tonight at the Woodlands so you guys will have to survive without me. Somehow. LOL NDNation and mytwocents-28 2 Quote
