I think Houston needs to sweep Texas.  They need to get a lead because they finish with 6 road games while Texas finishes with 7 home games.  Asking the Astros to go 3-3 on the road may be too much.

The rangers picked up a big win to complete a sweep of the A's today. They extended their lead in the division to 3.5 games, and dropped their magic number to 7.  If they can take two of three from the stros this weekend they'll just about wrap things up.

If we lose 2, we are done. Not sure about the Angels.

That's what made this series against oakland so huge for the rangers.  Even if we only take 1 of 3, we still leave houston with a 2.5 game lead and a magic number of 5 with 5 or 6 games left to play.

Well, good luck. I am still pulling for my Stros. They are going to have to beat the Rangers to do it......something they haven't done all year.

:)  I don't hate the stros.  I hope they can end up with a wildcard spot.

Never thought of you as a hater. Everyone has their team. Been a Stros fan since the days of Terry Puhl, Craig Reynolds, J.R. Richard.....

I was born here, but lived in dallas from age 2 to age 8.  my pawpaw used to take me to rangers games, and i've been a fan every since.

Nolan Ryan, Joe Niekro, Bob Knepper, Don Sutton, Joe Sambito in the bullpen. Astros have had some great pitchers. I also remember Dickie Thon, who was leading MLB in HRs when he got hit in the face, which pretty much ended his career. That was sad.

yep, can't believe we left out Chao.  As I could I couldn't wait until a home was hit in the Dime, so I could see the old scoreboard go off.  Fond memories.
