22-5A vs 21-5A playoff match ups

Recommended Posts

Didn't it take the MECCA until the fourth quarter to beat this team, who still hasn't reached their potential yet as a team. Maybe the MECCA won't reach the true MECCA either.

. . . And maybe Nederland will lose to the 4th place team again? If you go position by position matching New Caney up with Nederland, the only place they really have an advantage is coach. They pushed Crosby because they have good players that execute well. If they beat Dayton next week in the third place game they will have gotten through 21-5A with an overall 8-2 record, same as Ned's would probably be. They also have two weeks to prepare for Ned coming off a bye.

If New Caney finishes with a 6-2 district record they're probably going to be the favorite over Nederland at a neutral site.

Nederland has made adjustments and gotten better.  Just wait for the SETX "opinion" poll to come out.  You will see.

Yeah, that's going to be interesting. If you say Ned is getting better from the 17 point loss they took to start the season, then you can say New Caney is getting better from the 16 point loss they took to King. They're going to have a better win percentage with their only two losses coming to SETX's #1 and #2 teams, which were also the preseason #1 and #2. They'll probably put Ned in front though.

ONlt the voters will be able to know that

Tex, that's why he posted "all-time" records.  They don't like to hear about what has happened lately.

doesn't really matter about all time, last 10 years, or even last year. What either district did last year won't help them this year. Should have some good competitive games coming up, and if one from our district doesn't make it past first round, then I'll be rooting for 21-5A to win state.

Last year is ancient history. Different teams every year. The only way it matters is if you bring back every starter. Program and coaching matters, but players make the difference. That changes from year to year. I think 225a has their hands full from top to bottom. I would like to see a 225a sweep. Anything is possible. May get rained out and flip a coin.

Love how the bring up "recent history" but ignore the overall history.

The overall history of Vidor sucking held true this year. Since y'all have no shot at basketball either, start sprucing up the batting cages. That's just my two cents though.
