Hupernikomen Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 I'm going to go BadSanta in T minus 5 minutes. You Jasper fans must be full of that moonshine and pork skins. Dontre Thomas has over 1,000 yards rushing and we'll over 2,000 passing and about 35 total touchdowns if not more. I have seen Jasper play vs WOS and Huffman. Lots of talent but Silsbee is faster and deeper. I would suggest that Jasper fan bring a shirt and wear shoes to the Silsbee game or we will not let you in!!!"you jasper fans" should read 'you jasper fan." Blu is the only jasper fan who has posted here making broad claims of imminent destruction for Silsbee. Honestly, it is exciting to see a liitle spirit out of Jasper supporters. Haven't seen it much this year. And if the Silsbee rivalry doesn't bring it out nothing will. Now this Jasper fans opinion is only based on what i have seen from Jasper this year and what little i know about Silsbee 1. Disrict championship on the line 2. Bragging rights on the line, this is a real old rivalry as mentioned This will be the only game that some fans will see for either team all year just because of who it is 3. Both teams want the best seed. 4. Both teams want to enter the playoffs on a huge win. 5. Silsbee will have a packed house to defend their home field, and Jasper will fill their side as well Going to be a playoff type atmosphere The kids will be amped to the max Jasper has certainly improved. The lose to Vidor disturbs me more than to WO-S because it exposed what I have seen all year which is inconsistency against the run. Silsbee's mobile qb will be the key to the game. If Jasper stops him from running loose at a few important moments I Think they win, because Jasper should put up a lot of points. Silsbee has the ability to score and has given up a lot of points too. Honestly, it should come down to who makes the big plays. No clear favorite here in my opinion. I just want to wipe away the last memory i had watching Jasper at silsbee. It was not pretty. 42-40 Dogs is my best guess. DXTR, JB94, j_dog and 1 other 4 Quote
BADSANTA Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Great points and I have to agree on it all but the final score. Quote
Kj Dad Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) KJDAD is always wrong What's wrong with being wrong sometimes? Ik I was right win I pick WOS over Silsbee and Silsbee lost to Huffman So now you wrong Santa for saying I'm always wrong. Silsbee92 Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Glad I'm finally off for a big game at home. Silsbee vs Jasper for a DC. Been a while since Jasper came to the den with this on the line.Jasper has been playing well, again this game comes down to scoring. Can Jasper keep pace or will they try to go ground and pound? Silsbee has seen this every week almost now and imo don't care. They want a couple defensive stops and maybe a turnover each game, if they get these to happen, and limit their own TOs, it's prob a win at home. Silsbee can run the ball. This has been proven. BUT, they LOVE to show teams how the pig can and will fly. Really exciting team to watch. Jasper can stop the run but can they stop flying pigs while doing it?We'll see.I'm a homer.... Tigers at home 40-35. Pepper Brooks and STiger85 2 Quote
andrew24b Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) I do not know how long high school football has been playing in Texas or Southeast Texas. The Silsbee/Jasper rivalry started way back in 1921, that's 94 years of playing football against each other. Twice this rivalry has suspended play, one time for the war and one time because of a fight between the two towns. Why did they fight you ask, because they hated each other. This year Silsbee with a win will share the district championship and get the number one seed in the district. With a Jasper win they are undefeated district champions and number one seed, with a loss Jasper will share the district championship and a number two seed. Yeah, looks like another great story to be put in this rivalry book. Go Tigers!!!In southeast Texas The Beaumont Royal Purples and Port Arthur Yellow Jackets began in 1910. These teams would be the oldest in Jefferson County if they were still in existence. Edited November 1, 2015 by andrew24b Quote
BADSANTA Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Here are some of the best Silsbee vs Jasper moments I remember. 1992- Jasper and Silsbee played for thr District Championship at Kirby Memorial Stadium. Jasper won I think 56-13, but the game was a sell out on both sides and i5 was about 40 degrees outside. 1993- Silsbee vs Jasper in the Alamo. Jay McGuire had about 250 yards rushing but was injured in the 4th qtr. Jasper won 17-7.1998- Silsbee wins 20-6 in a hard fought gane decided in the 4th qtr by a Quincy Kelly TD run.2004- Silsbee won on last play of the game 2006 Silsbee 35 Jasper 0 Quote

CardinalBacker Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 I'm hoping for Silsbee to win. Strictly to bust up the tie at 2nd. Should be a good game. Quote
ST413 Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 If the Tigers lose they should be second anyway by points in a three way or a win over BC. Quote
CardinalBacker Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 If the Tigers lose they should be second anyway by points in a three way or a win over BC.That's what I understand. BC is quietly hoping for a Silsbee win or an LCM win this Friday. Either one puts us into 3rd instead of 4th. Assuming we beat Splendora, of course. Quote

MBaller#1 Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 People should understand that silsbee was ready for bridge city it was 35 to 14 at the half the defense has been talked about all year so they showed that they can stop the run when they needed too of course with the big lead the defense relaxed and a little help (lol) from the guys with the stripes bridge city did get back into the game , silsbee overcame a lot of adversity In that we would usually lose but they answer every score that bc scored and only turned the ball over once this tiger team is playing together as a unit they know and trust each other ,I don't think silsbee has ever had a team where at least 9 player mainly skills are really basketball players but have really succeeded on the football field as well a lot of good young talent at silsbee they want jasper and they will not let the dawgs beat them at home it will be hard fought but tigers take this one. Quote
BADSANTA Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 The QB from Jasper Quentin "Tiger" Williams will be the best dual threat QB Silsbee has faced all year. He is only about 5'8, but he is hard to tackle and extremely elusive. Silsbee Defense will have to figure out how to keep him in the pocket. He is also a very good passer as well. He the spark for Jasper as is D. THOMAS for Silsbee. The key to victory for Silsbee is as always, get off the field on 3rd down and win the turnover battle. JASPER TIGER and j_dog 2 Quote
