BLUEDOVE3
Madison had 6'10" Chris Harris and they never won State. Its all about what happens on the floor, not paper.I think he's talking about district, not state. Central was a heavy favorite to win that district without Chris IMO. Throwing in a 7'3" kid probably strengthens that position, especially when your strongest "competition" was already Charmin soft inside. Phi4:13
What happened to all the EXPERTS!!! God is good !!! No weapons formed against me shall prosper. Great to see they did the right thing. After the horrible experience in Atlanta I'm proud that Southeast Texans did the just thing. Hopefully one day the kid can make something of himself and give back to a community who gave to him. I think we all, no matter what city school or town you live in should be rooting for this kid. ST413
I think I have the game plan for us to deal with 7'3. We will get binPatrick Hudson to play that game and have him stand on mr 7'3s feet. That way he can't move or jump. The coaches have to figure out the rest! pakronos
gonna say this. being a 7 footer in h.s. might intimidate fans, but not REAL COACHES AND PLAYERS. my senior year in high school, my good friend and neighborhood playmate, Solomon Jones took it to the 7 footer Friendswood had in the playoffs...fouled and was pissed. and lets be honest, when perkins was at ozen, he was not impressive to me. his teammate kenna younger was far better. at 6' 10, he played in h.s, just like in the pro's. BIG SORRY!! he should have avg 20+ points 15reb a game and he struggled against nederland and pn-g(this was before nederland was good and PA players still went to lincoln) so i say lets see if big man is aggressive and dominant or is he "built like tarzan, but play like jane". 87JAG
ST413
I I tend to agree somewhat with what you r saying..you have to have some ability to go with that size. The big problem is most who have reached that size as a teenager are still learning coordination for such size. I had a somewhat similar view of Perkins from my very limited times of seeing him in high school, he seemed to be "dominant" mainly by size at at point not by his ability. Size is a huge part of why they get the attention from scouts but they also have to show signs of are talent as well.

The new coach will bring a high energy game to the floor. He'll be more involved with the kids as the game's in progress. Lee was just too laid back. Cant wait to see the big kid. BLUEDOVE3
If the big kid can specialize in rebounding, half the problem will be solved right there. TxHoops and ST413

Do those two things and he is a big difference maker for the Jags. No idea why people don't get this.

ST413
And that's exactly what that size alone should do. Have y'all seen the video of the 7'6 15 year old. He looks like he struggles just getting down the court after a score but he definitely protects the rim.
