@McMurphyESPN: TCU co-OC Doug Meacham turned down offer to become coach at Texas State, source told @ESPN. Sides couldn’t reach financial agreement

Rumors are heating up that he will be the new OC at A&M.  $1.2 mil which is double what he's making now

TX State has money. In fact they have my money. Wonder what he was asking for.

From what I've heard, the University president has to be the schools highest paid employee and she makes $450k.  Fran made $400k.   They don't stand a chance to land an up coming coach paying that.

Not sure if it's true, but just what I was told by a former player under Fran.  If they pay the coach more they have to raise the pay of the president.

He was the HC at James Madison.

Withers spent one year as defensive coordinator at the University of
Minnesota prior to his time at North Carolina. He also has been an assistant coach at the University of Texas (1998-2000; defensive backs), Louisville (1995-97; defensive coordinator/assistant head coach/defensive backs), Southern Mississippi (1992-93; defensive backs/assistant special teams), Tulane (1991; outside linebackers) and Austin Peay (1988-90; defensive coordinator/defensive backs; tight ends/special teams).

I'm sure he lit up the non-conference opponents.

I guess we will see.  I don't know much about him except for the fact his former team wasn't sad to see him go.  He has actually called plays in an college game, so he's got that going for him.

Spav has called plays in a college game. How'd that work for ya?

As with all coaches you have to see how they will do under the new circumstances.

But he was the OC on teams that won: 10 Games in 2013 - 10 Games in 2014 - 9 Games in 2012.  Not exactly the worst record for a new OC to have.

Do worry about the fact that UCLA did not seem too upset that he was leaving.
