by the bracket we lost game 23 I don't see anywhere that the Loser ofthat game plays tomorrow.  So I thought we were out. But yes I know we play at 8 and then maybe later in the day.

Their were consolation brackets. I was wondering the same thing but saw on Coppell's basketball page that they uploaded the tournament and on separate excel sheets were the brackets.

Refresh me on the list of doubters?? #1 Ranking in state,  return eveyone from Regional Finals last year, addition of the best two freshman to every come through SETX, Sounds more like heavy favorite than something to prove to me and I haven't seen doubters on this message board.

This conversation started 3 years ago when I coached the 8th graders from Silsbee (Now Jr's) in AAU ball. I was very confident in the success these boys would have starting in 2015-2016. I even stated multiple times that the freshmen class would be a big part of this team. They were in 6th grade at the time playing 2 years up with 8th graders and holding their own. There were A LOT of posters on here laughing and joking at me saying that there is no way we can tell how good Silsbee's future will be by a bunch of 8th graders and a 6th grader. I also stated 2 years ago that starting this year, Silsbee will not lose a district game for the next 5 years AND I am predicting at least 2 state championships in that time. People thought I was crazy and said a lot of stuff towards me lol. Now I see a lot of new Silsbee fans now that this year is here. Hopefully my predictions hold up because I love those kids! I wont be the one online talking much noise any more because of my new job... But good luck to all the local teams these season! Go Kountze and Go Tigers!

Does Anybody have updates on the #1 - 4A Silsbee" game for yesterday evening.  ???? Don't even know who they had to play Pflugerville are Brenum. You would  think for this site you shouldn't have any problems finding out Silsbee scores... smh..

Unfortunately, Silsbee did not get to play another game. They were suppose to play Brenham at 3:30pm but Brenham had one of their star players tear his acl and break his leg in game yesterday morning. Brenham decided to pack it up and head home instead of playing that last game.

Silsbee goes 1-2 in the tourney.

    • This is good info. It doesn’t really break out for student athletes though. LP & (I think) DP are open enrollment because of the way the towns intertwine. That’s the way it’s been for many years anyway. I assume it still is that way. The kids have a choice after Jr. High to go to either High School because LPISD has elementary schools in DP. As I recall, DP didn’t want to build out more (Robin Hood issues), and so DPISD & LPISD came to an arrangement because LPISD is one of the highest givers to Robin Hood in the state, and it helped both keep more funds in district. Of course, LPISD is open to all. Not just DP, and LPISD is rated well. So, I assume they have kids from elsewhere also. Not positive though. They used to have a lot because—for decades—DeWalt was the only dedicated public school in the GHA that specifically catered to special needs kids. Families from all over enrolled. But, they didn’t participate in extracurricular activities like sports. So, LP’s total enrollment made them 6A. But, they were really a 5A school all along for sports program sake. This is all as best as I can recall from when I was more involved in school issues. I’m sure a lot has changed since then. My kids have been out for 20 years.
    • Our playoff rivalry. They hold a 6-5 edge in the series. I think Newton continues the win streak in a hard fought contest. What say y’all?
    • Has Elmo gotten his aggy premature extension yet?  Pay him already because you guys were exactly right - he really does “get you.” 😂🤣
    • It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
