Henry is getting the attention because of the SEC.

Henry finished 2nd in the country in rushing yards and first in rushing Td's with 15 more than McCaffrey.  Please explain to me how he is only getting attention because of the SEC.....

The kid from Lamar actually led the country in rushing with 2092 yards in 11 games.  He finished with 106 more yards than Henry in 2 less games.  Great season for the young man.

Harrington should have gotten some mention similar to McNair back at Alcorn. As for Henry I did not know he finished 2nd. I purposely do not watch Alabama football. With those stats then I can understand and he should be there. I thought he was at maybe 1400 with 10 tds.

To me, the stats are not even close. McCaffrey is as good a runner, but adds receiving and special teams yards. 268 All Purpose Yards per Game. Good Gawd!

Kick returns are an easy way to pile up yards.  The players that lead that category usually play for bad teams with terrible defenses.  You don't see many running backs doing the returning mainly because of the beating they take the entire game.

McCaffrey's problem is that half of the country hasn't seen him play much.  Those west coast games that end at 2am eastern are tough.

i know right. He's as good as Reggie Bush IMO.

A question was asked today:

How would Henry do if he played for Stanford?

How would McCafferty do if he played for Alabama?

IMO McCafferty could play anywhere, in any offense.  Not so sure how Henry would do with Stanford's oline.

I saw Henry in several games but only saw McCafferty in one - but you look at the stats and I say that McCafferty should win - but from what I am reading Henry is the odds on favorite.

This is were the SEC reputation - real or imagined - is perhaps giving an unfair advantage to one player over another.

How has any previous Bama running back fared in new offenses at the next level?

Thats all the answer I need to that question.

C'mon guys, your anti-Bama bias is showing! Yeldon did well intil he got hurt. Lacy was doing great until he missed curfew. The only real bust here is Richardson.

Derrick Henry would be a success on any team, as well as McCafferty. Both of these guys play hard. I can't honestly knock either player at all. I still think the Heisman is A QB award, but we will find out soon enough.

I keep forgetting about Lacy, one more burger and he will be a defensive tackle

    • That should tell everyone something pretty clearly. Does anyone really think BH is recruiting elementary kids, to get them to transfer in Jr. high? Seriously? Here is the "dirty little secret" about BH: Most people move to the district for a quality living environment to raise their young family, and benefit from the outstanding acedemics at BH. Even If all athlectics suddenly disappeared from BH, people would still want their kids in the district. If thats not enough to convince anyone, and BH really was determined to recruit, first step would be to have open enrollemnt. It is closed.        Yes, I get it, no one ever wants to give BH the benefit of the doubt on anything. Some of the accusations are beyond ridiculous though. This paranoia the BH critics are afflicted with is not just sad, its flat out laughable.
    • Opting is always an option. Are they considering any BC assistants? Highly qualified after that season they put up.
    • Be that as it may, only time will tell. Hide and watch. Don’t be surprised if the next HC hire uses his own recipe. That happens more than not historically. I am not arguing the point that Hooks & CT had a winning combination that could’ve been carried over. I’m saying that finding someone to do that is not going to be as easy as one might think. Tell me again why Saban’s replacement, who even has Saban’s assistance if he wants it, just lost another game to an unranked team and has taken the Tide out of playoff contention? Why wouldn’t he just follow the success of possibly the greatest college football coach ever lived?
    • We've acknowledged having 2 HOF coaches hasn't been like most other schools. So why everyone jumps to the conclusion it wouldn't work here is beyond my comprehension. I see it carry over with these other hires. Gilmer, Aledo, North Shore, Austin Westlake. Next man up that continues the system in place has instant success. Matter fact there was 2 rookie HC that won the state championship the same year we handed over the keys. Same book. Same recipe. Better ingredients.
