HFfan5
Heads up to everyone. We had a Gypsy swing by my office today trying to sell us a BS Asphalt job and scoping our place. Anyone not familiar with these guys they travel all over the Southern United States and scam the hell out of people. Their usual spill is they have a bunch of hot asphalt left over from a job in the area that they will sell you dirt cheap and what they do is pour it and spread it and as soon you write them the check they go cash it and are out of the area. Couple days later the job turns to crap and you are screwed. Warn your older relatives especially they really try to target them hard. NDNation
I had this happen a few years ago. BEWARE!
Englebert
They showed up in my driveway about 2 months ago with this same story. I didn't say a word, walked in my house, grabbed my shotgun and walked back outside. They left quite abruptly. Seems like for every dollar you have, there's a hundred people that want to separate you from it illegally. Legal, it's Legions!Really great venue to post this type warning also. Although this scam is an "oldie but goodie", I know we have all kind pop up. Recently heard of one from last year. Mite have fake Delivery suit on. Comes to door w/flowers or some "nice" present & tells you you won it no charge. Oh wait, $3.95 owe for delivery, but I can only accept CR Card. Swipes it and it just copies your card. Immediately go on spending spree. Is there no end?If anyone hears of the latest active "Scam of the Week", please post.
