I hear you. In geographical terms, the HUB of Southeast Texas is Liberty (not Orange). Liberty is the 3rd oldest town in the state of Texas.

1) Nacogdoches (1796)

2) San Augustine (1809)

3) Liberty (1831)

I have noticed on this site for the last 5 years, that people from the Golden Triangle consider the GT to be Southeast Texas, exclusively.

This is absurd and should be corrected, so when I am given the opportunity, I take time to share a little bit.

With that said: Dibol to Liberty is 85 miles. Newton to Liberty is 100 miles. See: Wikipedia

Last year they had kids from McAllen playing in the game for SETX. At least the unis looked better this year.
