bhdirty30 Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 barrera tore his acl and possibly his mcl today at practice we wish him a speedy recovery and hope its not as worse at it sounds....
adminbaberuth Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Hate to hear that. I really enjoyed watching him in the playoffs last year.
Wiggins_Crony Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Yea this is really big. Not to bash anyone anyone but I think Huffman and others might actually have a just a wee bit of a chance now. But knowin BH they have someone just as good to replace him. But I really do wish that kid a FULL recovery. No matter how long that takes.
Guest coachhooker Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 i hope everything goes well for this young man, and if he has the heart he will come back from this, i wish him luck and the BH family
MIF04 Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Tough break for a great kid. I hope that it is not as bad as it sounds but, either way, I wish Chase a speedy recovery. He's still got a lot of baseball ahead of him.
sticky Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Wow! Huge loss for the Eagles. He was the shortstop and one of the better pitchers (probably the hardest thrower). He has started since he was a freshman. Terrific player who left an impression on all who saw him play. You will be in my prayers young man.
hfaninthestands Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 oh man, that's not good..this kid is for real, plays the game hard..here's to a speedy recovery....
Ty Cobb Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 I hate to hear this. This young man was a good ball player. Is he a senior?

sarge Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Let's hear what a Dr. has to say before we jump to conclusions. These injuries are hard to judge until an MRI is performed.
Shorty Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Dr.'s report on Barrera......not good! (out for the season) He does have a torn ACL and MCL. Bone is bruised due to the hit. Right now surgery is not scheduled. The doctor wants more range of motion to make rehab after surgery less painfull. He will still be in the dugout to lead on his fellow teammates as they make their way through the season. Thanks for all the continuing prayers! (We appreciate all the positive blogs for him on your website)
KFDM COOP Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Dang i hate to hear that. Hope he gets better soon.
falcolnfanatic Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Yea this is really big. Not to bash anyone anyone but I think Huffman and others might actually have a just a wee bit of a chance now. But knowin BH they have someone just as good to replace him.even if this kid was healthy Huffman would still beat barbers Hill just like last year ;D
EAGLE07 Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Hey, FalconFanatic...see ya in district...
BOSS Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 yeah man i played with chase on the Houston Heat and probably one of my best friends and when my dad told me this today around lunch i instantly got a feeling in my stomach like a bottomless pit...... man it is a shame falconfanatic that all you can care about now is who wins in freakin district but for Chase i talked to him early and he said he's super bummed and in just plain disbeleive but he still has high spirits keep him in your prayers
JS Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 even if this kid was healthy Huffman would still beat barbers Hill just like last year ;DUnbelievable attitude from falconfanatic---you should be ashamed of yourself
midline Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 The Barrera kid really is a class act, and not to mention a pretty good ball player. I really hate to hear this for this young man and the BH team. Here's to a speedy recovery!! Good Luck!
BHFAN Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Hope you have a fast recovery Chase! It was always a peasure watching you out on the field!
EAGLE07 Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 "It" happened with a violent collisiion with CF on a flare in practice...Losing Chase was no doubt a blow for BH... CH is a leader...they don't get any better...With that said...a very good, experiened BH team...loaded with some very talented, "as of now unknown arms" ...playing the season for #8...BH will be just fine !
BiggestFan Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Great kid. We've watched him over the years with the Heat organization. We just hope he walks on somewhere after rehab! Don't give up Chase. You will be great, even after a year off.
