Cooper--tell us about water temperature

When we look at KFDM weather and see water temperature---is this based on the coastal temperatures at the surf and where?  i plan on doing considerably more surf fishing when the temp gets 65 to 70.  When it gets warmer the bathing suits become too much distraction.

Yes the Water temperatures are taken near the shoreline. Farther offshore the waters are warmer.

yep,...not much to them.  But, it's something to do while you're waiting for the REAL fishin' to get good.

Personally, I'm chomping at the bit to get out to Spindletop.  It's shallow, dark water so it should warm up quick.

I've eaten them. A good eating fish but a lot of work for what is about the size of a big bream. Even the croaker are bigger.... and just as good to eat.
