As has been the custom for the last few realignments, you can tune into SETXsports for the UIL realignment live from the Region V Education Service Center in Beaumont.  Mike Sanchez and Gabe Pruett will be on hand to reveal the newest districts starting at 8:45 am on Monday, February 1.

I realize the possibility of the UIL denying Ozen's petiton to opt up to stay in 5A is very slim to none. In my opinion it's a travesty to the kids by not dropping to 4A.They would get a better chance to compete in football on the 4A level. It should always be about the kids and not about coaches being familiar with the teams they currently play in 5A. The community would be revived and pride restored. There's currently very low attendance at Ozen's games home or away. Travel is not that much of a difference to make a difference. Tomorrow will tell.....jmo....

Fox Sports Southwest is airing a HIGHSCHOOL SPOTLIGHT program at the 9 am slot to cover Texas UIL Realignment

I have my DVR set to record and will be tuning into SETXsports for updates, from Todd.

UIL already listed the schools that are opting up. Other than schools with travel hardship or school districts that form their own district, Ozen is only one of 2 or 3 that opting up.
