Chester86 Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Without getting into bashing schools, and excluding your own, what is your favorite and least favorite place to play in your district? I mention the bashing meaning not every school district can afford up to date facilities. Quote
Chester86 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Report Posted February 5, 2016 I would say in our district my favorite gym (besides our home gym) would be Sabine Pass (minus the food nazis), and the least favorite would be H-D (super tight quarters). Quote
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 In the district? Ok, here it goes.... Least favorite, Baytown Lee. Feels like the entrance to the gym is like getting in a night club through the back door. Favorite is PN-G. Very nice entrance with the Indian on the wall, nice lighting and you're not far from the court in the stands.... Chester86 1 Quote
About a week ago Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Favorite- EC (Not bias) best gym and consession stand! I think everyone will agree! Least Favorite- The Wack, I think it has a magic spell on EC lol exsoftballplayer 1 Quote
ST413 Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Easy for me as far as least favorite WOS,. Should be more room for visitors. Favorite a little tougher but may have to say BC, nice and roomy area around concession area with Windows for watching the game. Quote
BADSANTA Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Favorite East Chambers Least WOS! Time for an uograde Quote
ST413 Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 East chambers isn't in our district,. But would be a favorite. Quote

TxHoops Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Least favorite: HF - antiquated with side goals hanging off everywhere obstructing views. And MUCH less room than WOS. Favorite: HJ - nice gym, plenty of room, and always nicely adorned in some form or fashion. Enjoyed the player's cutouts this year. Favorite gym in SETX is obviously EC with honorable mention to Evadale. Chester86 and exsoftballplayer 2 Quote
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Favorite gym in setx is either EC or BH... Quote

Never think of that district as SETX, even though I know they're in our coverage. Just like the western 6A schools. Speaking of, Channelview's gym is in the conversation. 5GallonBucket 1 Quote

I know it never feels like it but may be due to the level of play and lack of interest by some fans.still at least the visitors have a whole side. Quote

But theirs might be one of the better ones that I've been to.... Quote

HF's seems like a jr high or elementary gym. Quote
Mamba Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Ozen is nice but I was impressed with Bridge City gym , i walked in and was instantly amazed. Very nice. But the best overall gym is EC . Baytown Lee and Central have the worst gyms sorry Soulja. Quote
5GallonBucket Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 EC for the best with Channelview right behind it. Anahuac and HF as the worst and West Brook's gym floor for 6A ball is a slap in the face to basketball players and taxpayers. BMTSoulja1 1 Quote
no-look Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Love the old gym at Huntington. Parking and seating would be an issue now. Least favorite would be Diboll. They need a new gym. Quote

I agree about Central's and as stated in a previous post, Lee's gym imo is worse in district... On a side note, I love Ozen's roomy gym, but it would be better if the bleachers were closer to the court. You feel distanced from the action at times... Quote

Team Game Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Worst - WOS Fans only get half a section and there is not a designated aisle, which makes it difficult for people to get around and the players chairs are against the bleachers. it just isn't easy for the elderly fans. Although the actual gym and space is nicer than HF. Best- BC hands down. Nice seating, concession stand area with windows to watch the game. Silsbee has a nice gym, but you can't watch the game, if you want a drink or snack. Quote
