Unfortunately, the Jim Morris Fan Club will continue to praise all things UM until we get pummeled by a real team in the post-season.

?

Miami swept #12 Clemson, won series against #9 Louisvile, and took 1 game against #1 Florida.  They are 20-4 on the year with some big wins and will be in the Top 5 when the rankings come out today.  They are pretty good.

Todays match up for the Huskers.

At least you got the UT right. Lamar has long been the nemesis of Rice when they were on top every year. Guess I'll be hearing from team first now. Lol

LSU lost 7-1 to Tulane last night so don't worry about him.

Lamar is trying to send Gilligan out with a bang.  If they keep it up in conference they should have a good shot at a regional.   The Cards have some good wins this season so far.

Doesn't even sniff my "worry" list.

I think Auggie needs to retire, but that's just me.

Glad to see some local high school kids will be playing with Lamar next year. Home games will have a lot of fans. southeast texas players. Lamar looked great last night, glad for Gilligan & players

Augie needs to hire a hitting coach.

He plays small ball and I can see where that would win some games in late innings or if you have a very dominant pitching staff, but he needs a lineup like the Astros......you can't pitch around any of them. That bunt in the 8th almost hit the batter in the face and was popped up for an out. If you can't bunt any better than that, then why play small ball?

Hitting coach would be great but you also need hitters. We try to win too many games with minimal runs, and don't have the pitching for that.

Anyone can and should play small ball. I do not fault any coach for that approach.

Like you said, he does not have any big league bats right now. It's not for a lack of trying. UT has had a large number of high level recruits opt for the MLB out of high school. Hard to sell them on a degree vs a big signing bonus.

That's every big school.  Baseball recruiting is so much harder because you really can't go after the best players because they will never step foot on campus.  Add limited scholarships and it's really a joke.  11.7 scholarships for 35 players is an abortion of a rule thanks to title 9.

#7 UNC at #3 Miami will be a good series.

Hopefully A&M takes 2 of 3 against Florida.

6 of the top 7 teams in the country are playing each other this weekend.  Hopefully the weather holds off and we get all of the games in. Should be a fun weekend.

#1 A&M at #2 Florida

#5 South Carolina at #3 Vandy

#7 North Carolina at #4 Miami
