Texas up early over #171 ranked UNLV.....3-0 top of 4th, man on 1st and 2nd for UNLV with 1 out.

A&M won 5-0 today to complete they sweep   Freshman Tyler Ivey threw 6 innings only allowing 2 hits with 7 k's   Definitely the best pitching performance of the weekend for the Ags.  Good way to start the season.  

 

Next weeks Schedule for A&M.  I don't really care what any of them are ranked.

Wednesday- Prarie View A&M

Fri-Sun- Pepperdine (3 games)

Thought you lived for rankings. Ags must have been on same time as TEXAS. Clemons had 4 hits, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Texas scattered 5 hits.

Rankings baseball actually are kind of important since that's basically how they decide who host Regionals and Supers.  Strength of schedule is important, but the Ags will be fine if they win conference.   The SEC is loaded with 4 of the top 7 teams in the country and 7 of the Top 25.

They spanked us in the CWS.

UF claims this is the best team they've had.

Ags beat SFA tonight 21-1.  The box score was ugly with 15 unearned runs on 7 SFA errors including 5 by 3 different 3rd baseman.  No clue how SFA beat #8 Oklahoma State last weekend.  They are brutal

A&M beats Prarie View 11-0 to move to 5-0 on the season.  

 

Next up a trip to Malibu for a 3 game series at Pepperdine.

Texas to start a 4 game set with Stanford.  After last weekend, here are some quotes about Bridge City's Chase Shugart:

 Chase is progressing. There is adjustments for everyone when they come to school, whether it's an athlete, or not. It's just more complicated for the athletes because of the time management and not many of the players are used to having to manage the time during the day so efficiently. He's growing into it, like the other freshman. He's not way out of bounds. He hasn't been way out of bounds. He's doing fine. We like him in the closer's role because of his competitiveness. He actually can hit. He's a good offensive player. Right now, one important job at a time. We really like the way he competes and we need that mentality in the closer's position and we need more than one closer. Right now, it's him and Kingham.

Pepperdine beats #4 A&M 7-5 handing the Ags their 1st loss of the season.

 

 A&M had chances late but couldn't even put the ball in play.  They don't have a Friday night starter as of yet.  They miss Stubblefield bad.

Stubblefield has done well at Emporia. He did give up three bombs to Tarleton St last week that had the scouts hitting the exits in the 2nd inning.
