According to Smoaky.com, current Woodville HC/AD, Mike Waldie, has been offered and has accepted the HC/AD job at Daingerfield HS! Woodville is losing a good one! Congratulations to Waldie and his family! Back to the drawing board, Woodville....

I'm expecting a lot of interest, honestly. Last time it was open, it opened about four months too late, and we still got a great coach. Plenty of time to make a great hire. Best football facilities of any 3A school around here, as well as 16 starters returning from a playoff team last year, that included several freshman and sophomore starters. Whoever gets this job could be looking at a gold mine of talent coming up over the next 2-5 years..

Folks wanted current guy on staff, supe wanted the original second option, search group and board liked the guy that turned it down. 

The folks in Mason are unhappy and plan on lining up at the school on Friday.

Yes, this is a disaster situation for Waldie. He may very well decide to stay in Woodville and let the mob attack the next sorry sap. The issue for Daingerfield is if Waldie turns it down, there is no way the  coordinator in question will accept the job as the third choice. This might get interesting.

I just read that the petition in support of the defensive coordinator was started by the defensive coordinators wife, as well as one of the head girls coaches. What a dumpster fire.

Good Coach on Staff If stay in house. Would keep the energy flowing.. Got a coaching buddy with a few state rings in football and one in baseball that would love to have it if it goes on the outside.
