Just a question......  In your opinion, what accomplishments or justification is required for a school to retire a jersey/number.  At our local school only one number has been retired in school history. That jersey/number was retired in honor of an athlete that had won Olympic gold medals and played professional sports.  There have been many collegiate players, state title teams, and record holders from our school but none of those were retired.  There are only so many numbers that can be used on jerseys and it blows my mind when I hear of schools retiring jerseys for minimal achievements.  What's your thoughts on this?

West Sabine has several jersey numbers that should be retired. Theresa Witherspoon is definitely on top of the list, but I could name a few more. Ted Williams was a great one that deserves consideration. Any idea what Ted is up to these days?

Only one person worthy of that honor - Brent Anderson c/o 02 (basketball)

Personally I think it should be at the school's discretion.  99% or more of all high schools in America will not have any pro athletes..  If they feel as someone is worthy.. who's to argue.

Wos has quite few in the big sports. Just to name a few of the football ones, #26 Kevin Smith (Dallas Cowboys), #12 Reggie Garrett and Earl Thomas. I think 33 for Ernest Anderson too. We also have never had a #1. You will never see it on the WOS sidelines.
