I just know this, I can't wait to see Roschon play. It is bitter sweet to see Shug wearing that awful PNG purple but I cannot wait to make the trip from New Orleans to see him since I haven't seen him play since I left for college in 09. I have his middle school jerseys on my wall and hopefully, after a successful season, I can add another to the collection . If you guys see me, ill be the loud black guy wit the Indian head dress. Watch out 22-5a, the Johnson boys are coming! Good luck everyone

For those of you that have your copy of Dave Campbell's 2016 Texas Football, turn to page 273 and look in the very top left hand corner.  If that comes true, this is my prediction...

 

1T. Beaumont Central...9 starters return on defense.  A bunch of juniors and sophomores played last year along with the district champs in JV translate to good things this year.  In my opinion, with Whaley being gone, it will benefit the offense in opening it up and not being so predictable.  The one district loss comes on the road against the Indians.  (7-1)

1T. Port Arthur Memorial...after playing much bigger schools like North Shore, Deer Park, etc., dropping down is a big confidence booster for the Titans.  Because of this, I could see them just as prolific as the team that went to the state quarterfinals a couple of years ago.  Along with Coach Harrison trying to keep his job, the Titans will have no mercy on the smaller schools of the district.  They do stumble cor their only district loss against the Jaguars.  (7-1) 

3.  Nederland...Nederland is Nederland but the streak will end.  He may not win district this year but they will be in the playoffs again.  Bulldogs still own Indians but loose to Titans and Jaguars.  (6-2)  

4.  Port Neches-Groves...the Indians will continue to reload.  Indians will beat Jaguars but loose to Titans and Bulldogs.  (6-2)  

5. Lumberton...Babin and the Raiders will come up a little short of making the playoffs this go around.  (4-4)

6. Vidor...the style of offense will keep them in many games, the defense will let them out.  (3-5)

7. Beaumont Ozen...gone is the all district QB, all everything RB and with the coaches getting a late, equates to a long season.  Lack of depth is a concern.  (2-6) 

8. Baytown Lee...no longer the cellar dwellers.  (1-7)

9. Livingston...the new cellar dwellers.  (0-8)

I think everyone is giving PAM too much credit based on the number of athletes they have. Yall do realize GCM had a higher enrollment the last 2 years than PAM and didn't make the playoffs in 22-5A right?    That says a lot about the impact coaching has on winning. How good is the PA coach?

You can brag about all the talent you want, but it doesn't come down to who has the most D1 recruits, comes down to team football with no mistakes and execution on both sides of the ball along with coaching!  smh

Xbox Harrison has a good heart and all, but seems to find ways to loose close games. how?? playing to lose. he will drop back in prevents against teams that can actually move the ball. have no creativity to play calling. if he has no raw god given talent, he gets EXPOSED. he has a tendency to not play the best kid for the position and NO i'm not even talking about the current qb situation.

now PAM is by far NO GCM...i think they are far better than GC....sterling had a way larger student pop than PAM...have you watched a sterling game?? lol

Welp, from Grad's preview of Lee looks like Memorial will go up against the slot-T the week before the Vidor matchup, I may have to backtrack what I said about week-11 depending on how our run defense looks. Guess I'll have to skip the Navasota vs BC game for the Memorial vs Lee game now.

Crosby beat Angleton 34-0 last year and it could've been a lot worse, PNG literally couldn't stop ANY play Angleton ran last year no matter what the staff tried. Is that great coaching or is it having the ability to turn and toss it to Billy Foster and let him run over, through and around much less athletic defenders PNG put on the field?

You better look around the state and see who's winning in the bigger classes man. Katy does it less talent than some of their opponents but they'll still have 8-10 D1 kids throughout the roster. Lake Travis is seen similarly but have produced Garrett Gilbert(#1 QB in country and national player of the year), Baker Mayfield(Heisman candidate) and Michael Brewer(starting qb at Va. Tech) pretty recently. This isn't the '70's guy, you need players in today's game, and a lot of them.

We know, George Ranch had several to go along with great coaching last season, how did that work out 2nd round?

About the same as it did for Crosby.     But Ned has also knocked off high ranked teams with D1 athletes in the playoffs as well. You also made my point of having great coaching along with the athletes.

2012.  You look at some of those schools that 14.2 listed,  LCISD is about to open another high school, so you will see some kids leaving the other high schools and I am willing to bet there will be another high school opening in a few more years, they are growing almost as fast as Katy.   Katy has had the same coach for over 10 years and 4 SC worth and have a long history that draws the kids to that school.
