I think there is a 50-50 chance that he will not be the starter after 6 games ..... unproven QB's succeed less often then they succeed ..... looks like another long long shot the Texans are taking!

Hell Hoyer had better stats for Houston that Osweiler did last year I think.

Qbs in the draft aren't expected to be proven. How can they be? Texans  needed a QB who can start. Osweiler has proven he can play the position, but playing backup and doing well is totally different than being the starter. Make mistakes as a backup, fans are forgiving. Make the same mistakes as a starter, they call for your head.....especially in Houston.

Mallet had little to none nfl expirence. Osweiler at least started and has game film. Mallet was always just a hopefull project because of his height and arm.

Not saying he's will be great but it's very common for backsups to become franchise guys romo Rodgers young hell even schuab for a little while.
