Mr.Green Jeans Posted March 14, 2016 Report Posted March 14, 2016 After watching the Tigers play in the state championship basketball game this weekend one thing was obvious Silsbee has a lot of talented athletes. If coach Smith can get these kids in his program the Tigers could dominate on the football field for years to come. JMO Raiders94 1
ST413 Posted March 14, 2016 Report Posted March 14, 2016 Most of them played football and were a big part of the football turnaround from last year.

Tiger90 Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 If he was there he never reviewed the facilities, met the coaches nor administrators.

BADSANTA Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 I'm sure he was busy trying to move and find a new place to live. My brother is a assistant college AD and it takes time to get situated and moved. I'm sure he will show up at all sporting events soon.

I have heard from a pretty good source he was there and in attendance in SA this weekend. Now I was in SA but never noticed him but was told he was right there by the superintendent. I am very interested in seeing how this new era begins.

Scatright Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 Girls sports parents already with their panties in a wad because AD didn't come to a softball game the day he moves to town. Give him some time folks.

Give him some time folks. You reach for a nerve that isn't exposed. The point was this: IF, he was present at school then it was a golden opportunity to walk 100 yards to the Softball field where the Silsbee Girls Softball team was playing a district game. That was my only point. Not once did I say that parents "panties were in a wad", matter of fact it never came up.
CardinalBacker Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 Just wait until week 4 or so and "The Best Receiving Corp" in setx has about 3 touchdowns between them and the Tigres are averaging about 3 runs for every pass attempt. That's when the panties will be bunched up. Alpha Wolf 1
ST413 Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 We may just have to wait for any panties to be bunched up until we beat your cards by by about 4 touchdowns again.... Who That, Pepper Brooks and CardinalBacker 3

Where'd you get that idea unless a bunch of you girl parents were in the stands clucking about how he wasn't there but was on campus.
Silsbee92 Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 SMH Said I'd bite and take a peek inside, Not good. That post explains it all. Incapable of a sensible conversation so trying would be a waste of server space. Maroon4 1
Mr.Green Jeans Posted March 17, 2016 Report Posted March 17, 2016 I think coach Smith's first task will be implementing a strong offseason program. Silsbee has the potential to become a football power if the kids and parents all buy in. Silsbee92 1

FearTheBeaver Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 New coach bringing in his own staff. Several players are being very vocal about this move.
Mr.Green Jeans Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 The players need to buy into the new system that coach Smith and his staff put in place asap. It will also be helpful for the parents and community members to also support these changes that coach Smith will be implementing. Change can be tough at times but if you give it a chance good things can come from it. ST413 1
CardinalBacker Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 I think those players and their parents need to stand their ground. You can't just roll into Smoketown and change things up. Fight the power, Tigres! FearTheBeaver 1
SilsbeeFootball15 Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 The main issue is that Mackey (most likely) is leaving and taking his son with him. That is a huge loss for the receivers and the team in general. These kids are brothers and this guy came in and broke it up. It's not Smith's fault, however that's the main issue. Also he runs a 2 back 2 receiver system and that takes away the big threat in our passing game we had last year... All that and possibly losing coaches they have been with for years will cause the kids to act a little hostile about the whole situation
Kj Dad Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 Just seen on FB a Silsbee kid complaining saying New OC/DC. I think its time for him to move. An I was told by a Reliable Source, if Mackey Doesn't remain the OC, Lil Mackey was staying. Guessing thing start to change and Mackey's going with his Father.
