There are a lot more reasons than turf fields that go into why setx is behind the times.

But it's slowly happening.  Few and far between...but happening nonetheless.

Come on.  Surely you dont believe this.

Not for a second.  I was merely making a point to WOSgrad that this field or any other wouldn't make a difference in how...I for one...feel about setx being behind the times.  Would take more than a turf field.

Joke or not, that statement is 100% correct. No matter how many dollars are thrown into the "facilities" race to the top, hundreds of others are participating in the same race, and whoever IS at the top, won't be for long. Then, it inevitably follows that the eternal complaining comes, as was quickly proven in this thread. The race to the top is never, every going to be "won". Whatever you spend, and whatever improvements you make will never, ever, be "enough" because someone else will spend just a bit more.

I for one, am sick of the eternal complaints here. How about we all just try to ENJOY SETX Football for a change?

Oldschool -tell Celina we said hi...

Nobody is saying that this wasn't a great year (football) for SETX.  WOS for one should be very proud of what was accomplished.  But I'm not going to pretend that the previous 10 years should be wiped away.  Can it continue?  Yet to be seen.  But I'm still believing that as a whole, this area does play second fiddle due to being behind the times.  Like I said though...I'm seeing more and more glimpses of trying to catch up all the time.  And it goes further than just facilities.

You're right though...I thought Celina was going to win that game.  I was wrong.  I think the outcome would've been closer if not for the injury...but not enough to overcome the speed of WOS.  Definitely wasn't a good matchup for Celina.

So funny to me that so many people on this site assume I'm just an outright SETX hater.  I'm just trying to provide an answer to a question.  Why does SETX have so much individual talent, yet so few state titles? (recently)  You guys just don't like the answer I give...not my problem some people can't face reality.

SETX can be very proud of recent accomplishments. However, why stop there? Why not try to improve on previous success?

What's wrong with upgrading facilities? I'm sure there is some cost/benefit ratio to installing turf rather than trying to maintain  a grass field? That goes for the school house, technology in the classroom, updated busses, etc...

If SETX schools are experiencing "success" with the current state of facilities/schools/etc, imagine what they could be with improvements across the board!

That's what I've been saying from day 1.  Upgrades go WAY beyond new athletic facilities.
