Alpha Wolf Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 Half of the 30 kids was from WO-S. I guess that's what it takes to be a state champion... Quote

NDOMAKONG Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Corbin Smith will be one of the top 10 recruits next year Quote
Kj Dad Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Congrats too all the kids thats on the list. I think MORRIS JOSEPH (Wos) and TE'RON BROWN (WOS) can be considered Top Recruits as well. Quote

Guest Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Top 30 greater BMT golden triangle. (Why sports writers from the area continue to consider bmT to be southeast Texas exclusively blows my mind. Nevertheless, good for the kids in the triangle to get some praise. Several good athletes left out of the conversation from even BMT area though. Quote
Kj Dad Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Deonte' Henson (WB) should be consider as well! Quote
dBerrySports Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 Keynel McZeal seems like he should be on the list. NDOMAKONG 1 Quote
SilsbeeFootball15 Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 This list is very inaccurate... No offense to the kids, but being a top recruit isn't based on talent or skill. It is your projection to the next level. Some of these kids are not sized accurately for their position to be labeled "a top recruit" Raiders94 and Cougar14.2 2 Quote
Bmt_4now Posted April 6, 2016 Report Posted April 6, 2016 Some of these kids will not play the same positions in college that they play in high school! Morris_era 1 Quote

Nothing against the kids but college coaches are going to be a lot more interested in a guy like Corbin Carr (#22) at 6'5" 300 lbs vs Jack Dallas (#3) as a 5'9" QB Alpha Wolf 1 Quote

Some of these kids are not sized accurately for their position to be labeled "a top recruit" It also says top recruits for the area, not for the state or the country. So besides a few names that could be argued, I don't see how the list is very inaccurate. The 30th "best" (however you determine that) recruit in SETX usually won't have the same recruiting notice that the 30th best in D/FW, Houston, etc has. And being a top recruit is based on some skill or talent. Some HS players have done more at this level and may plateau in college, some didnt do as much in HS and are going off of potential, some are a combination. But to say it's not based off of talent or skill at all isn't accurate in my opinion. SuperFan89 1 Quote
87JAG Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Realistically, there are all state kids that don't get recruited very hard. studd88 1 Quote
