Yes I'm sure the majority of reasonable people understand this.

But what about not allowing someone in your restaurant gas station etc. It's just a front they should be man/woman enough to say I'm not serving you because you're gay. Don't hide behind religion.

this is true.  based on the book that everyone loves to quote so much,  it is an absolute fact that Jesus would serve a gay person food or let them into his house.  Now I can certainly see the argument about an actual wedding in the church, and among more conservative denominations, especially, and i don't have a problem with it.  That being said, apart from actual services related to a wedding, no Christian should be refusing service to a homosexual in the name of Christ.  That is as un-Christlike as you can be.  Jesus loved the sinners.  He did not refuse them, and there is no interpretation that you can find me in the New Testament that will ever convince me that what Christ wants is for Christians to discriminate against any sect of people, sinners or not.  You'll also have a tough time providing me with the scripture that says that homosexuality is worse than adultery, out of wedlock sex, pornography, divorce, drunkenness, (insert your sin here), etc. etc. etc..  I guess maybe Christians have latched onto this major movement against homosexuality because it makes them feel like their sins aren't as bad?  or maybe it's because this sin just feels grosser and makes them uncomfortable?

Maybe if adulterers, drunks, porn addicts and divorcees weren't so in your face as REBgp put it, and didn't demand you accept and put a stamp of approval on homosexuality, you wouldn't see such a movement from Christians.

You are confusing who is pushing the agenda.

Because they aren't discrimated against....They wouldn't need to do that.  Start telling divorcees they're not allowed to eat somewhere, make a cake for them or let them remarry in a church, I bet you'd see a "movement".

This happens quite often.

So let me get this straight...if someone owns a business, should they be forced (or face legal consequences) if they don't sell to someone if they feel it is against their religious beliefs.

Opinions aside about whether anyone agrees with it, are they allowed to refuse service based on that.

Not directing just at you Bobcat...for anyone to answer.

I don't think I would under most circumstances, but if I had a problem with it, I should be able to...jmo.

Yeah,.  My religion says that black people should not be able to eat with whites, or ride  in a cab.   You ok with my religion?

I think that anyone should be able to refuse service to anyone else for any reason.   Any government function should be rendered equally to everyone but that does not apply to private citizens or it should not.

I think blacks should be able to eat at McDonalds if they want.  That's just me.

Is it an issue? Do you really think McD would ban anyone?

I think did it will rightfully be the end of their billion dollar company.

I don't think they will.   However, I still disagree with your general statement.  Refusing service "for any reason" just goes too far, in my opinion.

Wait till the Muslims take over. It won't matter what color you are, straight, gay, somewhere in between......if you ain't Muslim, you will die. But wait, they somehow have rights that I don't possess.

Ah, the left's view will bite them in the arse......freedom to do anything for everyone!

I just ate at a restaurant in Houston where I was asked to remove my Astros baseball cap. Had I not removed it, they might have refused to serve me. Guess what? I politely removed my cap and had the dinner of my life......and I'm about as white as you can get.

Has nothing to do with religion, but it shows refusal of service can be applied to all. And, I know I can remove my hat but you cant change being gay.....just showing how I think it's ok to be selective......hold certain standards.

I'm happy that people get their panties all wadded up. Our society is way too pampered which perpetuates the cry baby attitude.

If you can think of a way to be a victim or be offended, you are very cool these days

How true.

A prime example is the Muslim female who wants to attend The Citadel and wear cloth over her face, and disrespect the dress code required of all the other students.   Bingo, The Citadel lets her, or She's the Victim.

According to school policy,

The Citadel will approve requests for accommodation of religious practices unless accommodation will have an adverse impact on a competing institutional interest including, but not limited to, cohesion, morale, good order and discipline, cadet welfare, safety and/or health. Accommodation of a cadet’s religious practices must be examined considering these factors and cannot be guaranteed at all times.

I get offended all the time and also feel a victim of oppression because I have values and principles. To play the victim role (woe is me), you have to have ANTI in front of everything and be in the minority. Stand FOR absolutely nothing......such an easy route.

I have no problem with the Policy at The Citadel.  That's not the point.   The point was that her aim was to be the victim.   Why else would a Muslim female want to go there?   Why there when she could attend any other state funded school in SC and be accepted with her Hijab?    Because it's her right?  Bull feces, she wants to "stir the pot", be the victim, chip away at America.  The Citadel was founded in 1842 and there have been no exceptions.   So here comes a female Muslim.

No response, as expected.  Come on.  Debate me on this.

OK, here we go...this is what I believe and why.

The Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin...just one of many I agree, but a sin.

It would make no sense to me for God to create someone that was born to live a life of sin by design...that's why I believe it to be a lifestyle choice and not genetic.

So there it is...don't hate anyone, but I think someone should have the freedom to not do anything (such as cater a gay wedding) that goes against their religious beliefs.

That's what I believe and why.
