Mississippi has taken a bold step to defend religious liberty

How about my scenario I mentioned above (Sun at 12:50).   The possibility is real.   What would y'all do?

I'll start it off, I'd have to pay the lawsuit or hire some folks who may not know a bean casserole from baked corn.  And in the event the nude party turned into a love fest, I'd have to pack up & go the lawsuit route.

I'd be interested to know how our liberal posters would handle this.  And yes, I'm curious to see if you think a caterer has Any Legal reason to refuse the request of service to any LGBT person?

Don't understand your question.   Why would my whole family have to go?   If it turned into a love fest?  What is that?  Your imagination is running away with you.  Too much free porn.

Let me clarify.   You own a catering business and your children help you at nights and on the weekends, which is when the gay couple are having their nude party.  I'll assume you wouldn't want your 15 & 13 year old son & daughter work it.

Since you mentioned porn, I'll assume you know what a love fest is.  I was trying to keep the post clean, but ok - turned into an orgy (if you don't know what that is look it up).  Bottom line we1, is there any boundary?   Can gays require a caterer to cater any kind of event?   If there is a boundary, in your opinion, what is it?   Because, what little I read of what happened in Oregon, there is no reason to refuse your services.

What are you talking about?  I have seen plenty of women use the mens room when the line was too long.  It's really not a big deal.  You need to be insulted because puritans like you(as opposed to bleeding hearts, since name calling is allowed), are freakin, idiots, to language which you apparently understand .

such a great way to look at things.  what is a big deal to you?      Downward spiral..

and when all those perverted men decide to take advantage of the open bathrooms and assault or rape happens,  what then do you have to say?  You must not have any women in your life like a mother, wife, grandmother, daughters....

Well then I guess since everyone is  a sinner lets just go ahead and legalizing everything....rape, murder, assault, tax evasion, stealing, etc....

while were at it lets just go ahead and allow our teachers to dress inappropriately and cuss like sailors....

Like I said we have to use common sense John and billy being gay do not affect anyone but John and bully "Common Sense." And it's more to my point on why it's hypocritical to call it religious freedom crap. When it's only concern is gays still selling to anyone else.

This is why Christianity is losing credibility and popularity.  I was at a crawfish boil recently for a buddy's second wife's daughter.  They were celebrating the out of wedlock birth of her second child.  After 8 or 9 beers he went off on a tangent about "queers" and all the rights they're getting.  You see where i'm going with this?  After divorcing and remarrying, while celebrating the results of his step-daughter's premarital sex, this guy got drunk and then railed against homosexuality and how it was ruining the country.  I've asked many conservative Christians, but very few of them can come up with even a bad explanation as to why homosexuality is a worse sin that the ones they are committing every day.  They certainly can't do it with scripture.

Maybe it's your interpretation skills or lack thereof. No one is saying one sin is better or worse than another. All that is being said is, no one should have to "assist" another in doing "that" particular sin....in simple English.........Christians would not assist said sin to take place.... murder, rape, etc. knowingly either.

It's also been said...What would Jesus do? He would love the sinner, hate the sin...he would not deny them services (food, housing, clothing, etc)......however, I feel quite certain, He would NOT perform their marriage or partake in said ceremony.

On another note, they probably weren't celebrating her "out of wedlock" birth...probably just celebrating LIFE...but that doesn't fit your agenda....perhaps by liberal thinking, she should have just aborted!

Man this is crap no matter how you slice it gays are just the hot issue in a lot of people's crossfire. Like it or not man will always view certain sins above others. It has really nothing to do with Christianity or religion. I'll ask this question if any of you were not religious would that change your view on homosexuality.

I would just like to find a way NOT to have a gay wedding televised at halftime of a football game.  Is that discriminatory?

Ok that's what I'm saying so let's not hide behind religion and bible verses if that's the case ..... And I'm not talking to you directly CraigS

I understand your point, but on this matter, it isn't hiding behind religion, it is a legit discrimination against religious freedoms.

My answer (and will piss some off) would be the same if we were talking about having sex with your (insert pet here), it's flat out GROSS! AND religious beliefs....One can have more than ONE reason to have negative opinions about such activity.

The best thing said so far is to use common sense....something that has long left the people who make law in this country....it has been replaced with PC, the most dangerous reason for doing anything...IMO

PamFam10- You may find this hard to believe but much of the value systems of many folks are bible based.

Why would I find it hard to believe. You don't have to be religious to be against 90% of what the bible teaches anyway. Not just Christians believe killing, raping, lying, etc is wrong My point is why make this gay issues a religious issues if religion is not the sole reason you disagree with gays. It's like religion is used on the issue only to gain more support.

That's why I say common sense law if we go tossing religion around we favor it now but what happens when it's another religion getting force around. My religion can be anything I choose it to be in America. The best protection for religious freedom is to keep religion out of politics.

the whole argument of" well we all sin so lets make everything legal"  do you really want to open that can of worms.

The reason this sin could be looked at as worse from the human perspective "its easily visible" and they are practicing the sin.  And yes there are Christians that practice sinning as well(your friend and his 9 beers) ...  either case doesn't make it right.

two wrongs don't make a right

I like how liberals like to use Christians that sin to justify such things.....

Many of our Goverment laws are based on scripture from the HOLY BIBLE.

So what our country was built on bible values that do not mean it cannot or will not change. We all favorite religion in politics now but what happens when it's another religion that's getting force about. Best way to keep religious freedom is kept it out of politics. The laws of the bible is common sense laws that almost all countries go by. It's called common sense. I don't see why anyone is bother about what another person choose to do with there life. I'll sell a gay a cake before I sell a drunk a beer. Or what about we ask for marriage licenses to get condoms lube etc etc. see this can go forever and ever and soon you'll have no one to sell too. Just say I dislike gays and for that reason I refuse to sell to you man up don't hide behind religion.

1st if you don't grasp the importance of man and woman, husband and wife, father and mother. then there is no point in me explaining anything to you.

Try visiting with the youth of our country and see it for your own eyes.

It s hard enough on the youth that only has 1 parent or has multiple parents due to marriage-divorce-remarriage.  THis epidemic alone is a major cause of many problems we have in this country.  And no one can tell me this does not affect our youth.

so in saying that your going to tell me that gay relations doesn't affect our youth.

I work with young people have been for quite sometime.....confusion is the conclusion right now.

If we base everything we do off of feelings we would have even a more screwed up nation.

You work with youth I grew up with this "youth" and I tell you if you think homosexuality is even a half percentage of the problem your far off.

I never said I didn't see the importance of a dad mom child house hold but a gay man/woman will be gay I can't change that. And this bill or anything I ever seen proposed won't change that fact. We have gays and it's absolutely nothing that can be done about it no magical vaccine.
