Any ideas on how ol Hardin is expected to do this fall?  Any key players returning or any good underclassmen coming up?

I think the Hornets' problem will be the same as usual, a talented team that most folks won't see how talented because of the top heavy district they are in.

Several of the kids aren't going to play football next year so we shall see. Coach Stark has been great for the program. Kids just need to stay with it.

Well not casting dispersions, but new coach...new direction...new philosophy...increased expectations on kids commitment = Little Johnny aint getting his love and thinks that somebody is gonna beg them to play...In the end the pony gets broke and they play ball. (JMO) or maybe I am wrong and they have just lost interest, but I just don't see that in Hardin.

My son met Coach Stark when he first came to Hardin in the spring of 2015. He said he loved the guys intensity and would've loved to have had the chance to play for him.

3 home and 3 away games in a row? That's a pretty terrible job of scheduling

Thats pretty good schedule for Hardin but going to be tough to win a lot of games

We had a pretty decent JV last year and we are losing several seniors, hopefully with the players from JV moving up, this will help our Varsity team. We shall see, we need to find a way to win. This district is going to be quite different, plus all district games are away but one, that is going to be rough.

Hardin has not beat Anahuac since 2007. Hope that changes this year.

Intensity is the right word for Coach Stark. I got to know him at West Sabine for the four years I covered the team for the local paper, and he's a good one that y'all need to have stick around awhile. I think that barring injuries this year y'all could compete for a playoff spot. Don't know the roster, but I know the coach well, and even with this being a murderous district, win, lose or draw I guarantee three things from a Tod Stark team: physicality, intensity and attention to detail.They may end up being outscored, but they will never be outplayed or outhustled.....

It's a non Pineland Day year for West Sabine, so we have SEVEN away games (six in a row, so if you count the bye we won't play at home for nearly two months). We will be logging the miles in this district, as the away games are @Lovelady (10/7), @Centerville (10/14) and @Deweyville (10/28).

wow. that's good for season after next though. and you are right......Stark in my opinion is the best thing that has ever happened to Hardin athletics. Hope we can keep him for the duration of his career.

Yes, y'all got a good one in Stark. He'll turn the program around in a heartbeat for you, and you won't find a more intense guy out there! He will fight tooth and nail for his guys as well, as I personally witnessed at West Sabine on more than one occasion....

This team may indeed make a run at a playoff spot. Definitely improved from last years squad.

I am liking what I am seeing in the backfield with Durst and White. We shall see
