Area 3A Football Histories

I finally got around to reformatting and updating my old files so that they can be opened in 2016 software (I was literally using software from 2001 before this).  I've also formatted the old GIFs to Excel such that they can be opened as spreadsheets, downloaded and printed which people have been begging for for years.  I'm still updating some histories up to date from 2009 when I was last active and am making some brand new ones from scratch as I have a ton more data than I used to. If you see any definite errors please let me know and i'll look into it  i've put my own marks about questionable scores in the far right column.

2000: Hardin Football

Lost to San Augustine 27-13 in Bi-District playoffs

Interesting note: Hardin and Kountze football is virtually identical as far as winning percentage goes in the history of their respective highschools.

Hmmm.... What's your reference for that 27-13 score? Everywhere I look it's 49-0 including the official UIL page itself.

My reference is, I played Def. End in the game

I wouldn't lie to you about the score. A loss is a loss, but it needs to be corrected.

Some jealous people from Anahuac reported the score to all of the BMT local news stations as 49-0 and then told us what they did.

Every site I know in the HS sports world to this day has the score as 49-0 because of that garbage they pulled.

Ask Scatright on this site. He knows the truth.

I believe you. Easily enough solved with a quick newspaper search when I get home.  It's a rather sad state of affairs that even the UIL has it wrong on its own website being as a recent as 2000 and given the official score reporting requirements they have had in place since 1920... Especially being a playoff game.

I actually found a couple showing 27-14, played at Diboll Saturday 11/18/00.

that' a lot better than the other score. however, I missed the 2nd extra point in the 2nd qtr.  and that was the last time we scored. we never put it in the endzone in the 2nd half and it ended 27-13. do you have an email?

This site has it as 27-14 for San Augustine.  Pretty reliable as it comes from Joe Lee's stats.

I just watched the highlight tape. you are right. I missed the first xtra point and we went for two after the second TD and converted. 27-14

Wow. I had no idea Kirbyville had a season (1970) where they only gave up 6 total points in the regular season. 9 shutouts in 10 games. That's insane.
