--Lost several key starters, but had a very good JV and return some young starters. Will compete for last two spots with Wville and Trinity.

Coldspring (7-5)(5-0) 1st place 8-4A D1 ;  area loss to Atlanta (0-41)

--Lost several key starters on the defensive side, but bring back some talent on both sides. Should compete for DC with Kville.

Kirbyville (10-2)(7-0) 1st place 12-3A D1 ; area loss to West (32-35)

--Big loss in Jackson Gore at the QB position, but return a lot of talent on offense, including Ty Dennis, senior RB. My pick to win DC, but Coldspring will be main challenge.

Kountze (2-8)(2-5) t5th place 12-3A D1 (Hardin, Anahuac) ; no playoffs

--Took a lot of hits on both sides of the ball, but have some young guys coming up into the system. I'm saying rebuilding year for Kountze, but they could surprise some people.

Trinity (7-4)(4-2) 2nd place 12-3A D2 ; Bidistrict loss to Corrigan-Camden  (28-64)

--Shocked a lot of people taking the second spot overy Lexington in 12-3A D2. Return a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Will compete with Woodville and Buna for 3rd/4th spots.

Warren (2-8)(0-7) Last place 12-3A D1 ; no playoffs

Head coach: 

--Lost their two best players, but return a lot of young players who are anxious to play. Unfortunately, I don't see them competing for the playoffs in this top-heavy district.

Woodville (7-4)(4-3) 4th place 12-3A D1 ;  Bidistrict loss to Teague (7-49)

Head Coach: Ty Robinson

--Lost three starters on both sides. Return QB, both RB's, and three offensive lineman on offense, as well as many impact players on defense. New HC Ty Robinson will have them competing for the 3rd/4th spots in this district.

Kountze has a lot of talent in 8th grade. But this will be a rough year for the Lions.

This is not an easy one to predict.  

 

I am going to with:

1. Coldspring

2. Kirbyville

3. Woodville

4. Buna

5. Trinity

6. Kountze

7. Warren

 

I am taking Coldspring to win this district because of where I had them inside my pre-season rankings.  After that, I have Kirbyville as a close 2nd and that could be a toss up if Coldsrping is going to be down a bit.  Kirbyville also beat Woodville and Buna by 40+ in 2015 so that is a lot of ground to make up there.  I will go with Woodville in the three spot, but those 3-5 spots could be up in the air.  

Trinity is losing some coaches including the HC/AD.  Also will be losing one of their top younger players.
