Per a source, Baylor RB signee Kameron Martin doesn't plan to enroll next week and has asked for release from his letter of intent.

But mostly, this day is for the young women whose lives were destroyed by your lack of morality, humanity, and decency. This day is the end of your career on the sidelines. And if you stop to listen, you can hear above the anguished cries of self-righteous indignation from your cult of Baylor fans in Waco the sweet, melodious chorus of justice from heaven's angels. May their anthems ring in your ears for eternity.'

So with that, to all the Baylor people that continue to blindly defend Art Briles, I say shame on you. And to all the Baylor fans that are patting themselves on the back and self-congratulating Baylor for "doing the right thing," shame on you too. 

The right thing to do was to fire Briles last August when this dumpster fire of pure evil finally came to light. Instead, Baylor and its fans chose to defend Briles at the most disgusting levels. They screamed that this was all a conspiracy and that people were just jealous of their success. Well guess what Baylor? The only conspiracy were the sickos at your "Christian" school going to criminal lengths to cover up rape. 

As it appears, the Baylor Board of Regents only fired Briles because Ken Starr threatened, and still does, to go public with what the external investigation found. Starr refused to be a scapegoat, leaked that he told the regents to release the full external report, and left the regents no choice but to fire Art Briles. 

Just a few days ago, after getting the Pepper Hamilton external report, the regents were planning on canning Starr and doing everything they could to keep Briles. So now Baylor wants people to celebrate them for making the hard decision and "doing the right thing" after actively harboring a Rape Enabler for years? 

Give me a break Baylor. You didn't chose to "do the right thing." You were pinned into a corner and forced to."

7 players asked to be released from their ROI.  I don't see how Baylor can deny them from a PR perspective.  Coaches across the state are trying to add a few late additions to their class.

Why release them and open a can of worms? Your PR is already garbage.

The LOI is a binding contract. They can transfer and sit like every other kid who had a coach leave after they signed.

I agree it is a binding contract but... Since you brought it up.....

How many 17-18 year old kids truly understand contracts...?  And before you go any further with phrases like "grow up", "adult decisions", etc...  admit that deceipt is rampant among recruiting, maybe not everywhere but exists in abundance at the top levels.  Hence Baylor.

It is being reported that Baylor is not letting the players that haven't enrolled yet out of their LOI.  The NCAA can still overrule them.  Otherwise the players will have to transfer and sit a year.

I agree, 100%.  I make it a point with my children to explain those life lessons.

Then again....

Nobody ever signs anything without reading it.  

No kid has ever trusted an adult that ended up exploiting them.

Every kid has a responsible adult in their inner circle.

Like I said, not going to feel sorry for anyone who is getting a free education. If you are as talented as you claim to be, then then just play the game. Or transfer and sit a year while you get a free education. Go to class, study. Get a free education. I fail to see the problem. A pack of blessings lie upon thy back.

I bet we will start seeing more of the top players not signing LOI's.  The higher rated players will have a little more leeway with this, but why sign something that binds you to a school when you don't have to?

"If you don't have to" that is the problem. If you want the guaranteed money (scholly) then you "have to". If they hold out as a walk-on there may not be any money left in that class budget. 

I suppose some coaches could hold some money back just in case, but I doubt that happens very often. Not to mention, I'd guess more times than not, most of these kids can't afford to walk-on.......play with fire - you will get burnt. 

I'm more app to agree with GCMPats visit, make an informed decision as best you can, sign LOI and go get a free education. If you don't like it, move on, just understand, that life has rules, learn to live by them and with them...it won't get any better as you enter the rest of your life after sports.
