Prayers Needed for GCM Student

Recommended Posts

A student trainer was badly injured in San Antonio in an ATV accident. Her older sister was also one of my wife's cheerleaders at GCM.

This is from the family's Facebook page:

What we know so far.. Fractured skull in two places, bleeding on brain in two spots, left eye is completely swollen shut, tons of bruises and cuts.. Cat scan every few hours for possible brain swelling.. If the bleeding doesn't stop surgery is still a possibility.. ENT is saying due to where one fracture is he fears hearing loss in one ear, and due to the swelling of the eye and possible broken cheek bone she could have nerve damage.. Until they can bring her out of medical coma this is what we are looking at..

Please lift up her and her family. She will be a senior at GCM.

Update:

She is awake!!! Unfortunately her throat is so swollen at this time they can't take breathing tube out bc she doesn't have room around it for air flow.. They are going to try and give her something to reduce swelling and hopefully get breathing tube out.. She's squeezing our hands, trying to smile, opens her eyes to look at you.. Once they can get the tube out then comes trying to see what if any damage has happened.. Still dealing with the bleeding on the brain but they are also giving her something to try and fix that... Please continue to send prayers.. We truly are grateful and appreciative for all the prayers, calls, and outreach of support we have received through this time...

Latest update from the family:

Just want to update everyone, Alyssa is awake and talking! She is doing much better this morning than she was last night. Still asking for constant prayers, she has a long road to recovery but we know she is gonna come out on top!
