Hagar Posted July 22, 2016 Report Posted July 22, 2016 Oh me. Once again, she's in deep poop. Unfortunately, her voter base would vote on her even if someone found the 666 birthmark and took a picture. Quote
Big girl Posted July 22, 2016 Report Posted July 22, 2016 Did you see the recent video of the behavioral specialist that was shot? He was helping an autistic kid who was playing in the street with a toy truck; of course, someone called the police. The guy told the policeman that the kid is autistic and was playing with a toy gun. The therapist lays on his stomach with his hands visibly in the air. He shouts."my hands are in the air" and he was still shot. He lived to tell his story ,and someone was recording the incident using their phone. That is ridiculous. What di you guys thing #blacklivesmattertoo Quote
stevenash Posted July 22, 2016 Report Posted July 22, 2016 Big Girl- since we cant see the video, lets assume you are representing its accuracy 100%- Do you believe this is an exception or the norm for police conduct in this country? Quote

tvc184 Posted July 22, 2016 Report Posted July 22, 2016 The officer was likely wrong but I think looking at the situation, he accidentally fired. He should have never had his finger on the trigger (which is the way it is trained). I will bet that the guy really wasn't shot directly in the leg but he caught some ricochet off of the roadway because the officer wasn't aiming when he fired, which makes me even more believe that he accidentally fired or as it is called an accidental discharge or negligent discharge. I have a hard time believing that an officer with a rifle (I think) from a few yards missed by several feet. The rifle is capable of a head shot out to about 200 yards without even using a scope. Even with a handgun he should not have missed that far. Quote

What di you guys thing #blacklivesmattertoo I saw it on the news, and the officer shouldn't have fired, although it may have been accidental. But it points out the BIG problem of the recent shooting of Police Officers. These Officers are human, with wives and children, and they carry guns. They want to go home to them when the shift is over. Now, many of them fear for their lives, and I'm afraid that shootings by Police may increase. Put yourself in their place. You'd have to be in a defensive mode (I know I would). My advice, to All of us, be as compliant and respectful as you can if confronted by a Policeman. Make him or her as comfortable as possible. If you're pulled over at night, first thing, turn on your dome light. I know 99% of police, never want to use their weapon, Ever. And 99.99% of us don't want to get shot, Ever. TVC, if you have anymore advice on how we can help on our end, most of us would appreciate it. Quote

I'd be willing to bet there are more arrest in Philadelphia than there was in Cleveland, and it was a hostile location for republicans. Although I may be wrong since there's so much voter apathy over these two candidates. Quote

Why become an officer if you are afraid or inadequately trained? If I became quesy at the sight of blood or open flesh and wounds, would it had made sense for me to go to college to become a Registered Nurse? I don't understand Quote

I brought this situation to light, because this is why we have the Black lives Matter Movement. There is also a video of a white guy resisting arrest and attacking 2 officers and he is still alive. What do you all think about that? I don't know how to upload videos Quote

Please share the video with us. I know that you are very used to rendering a verdict with no evidence. Speculation is great but it is just that, speculation or an opinion. I am speculating based on 33 years as a police officer. Having been on duty when it happened and worked with people that have done the exact same thing, It is my opinion based on that experience that it is likely that he fired the weapon by mistake. If he did so, he is very much wrong for accidentally firing a round. If he fired with good cause (and I certainly didn't see any) then he was not wrong. The problem is that we can only guess. But I will stick with my opinion of, he is likely wrong without knowing any more. Quote

No, Alton Sterling, the one you asked if resisting arrest is punishable by death. He had a gun while wrestling with police. Stay on track. When you skip around as you do, it means you really have no direction or conviction. Quote

That makes a lot of sense.... Quote
