dog71
In district 22-5A, Nederland is one of the bigger towns with a population of 17,563 people with one High school. Beaumont is much bigger but has 6 High schools within its city limits. Most of the schools in the district lists their enrollment 9th-12th grades. Being one of the larger schools Nederland has an enrollment of 1584 students 9th-12th. Port Arthur has a population of 54,135 with one High School and listing an enrollment of 2098 10th-12th with a cutoff of 2100 at the time of reporting although the uil raised the cutoff to 2150 later. On Port Arthur Memorial's Home Web Page they list an enrollment of 2460 grades 10-12. Somehow the numbers don't add up. Some of the other towns in the district have a much smaller population with an enrollment as small as 1000 kids. Just wondering. Any explanations or thoughts on this? Raiders94
When West Brook was formed, the 9th and 10th grade campus was included in the enrolment numbers. Even when West Brook moved the 10th grade to the main campus, the 9th grade enrolment was included. So why wouldn't the 9th grade campus be included in the PAM enrolment numbers? Mr. Buddy Garrity
2460 is the number we had about 8 years ago, couldnt find that number on the district's webpage, but I bet "someone" was looking at Wikipedia lol, that's about as trustworthy as stats from maxpreps. outanup
Lets take a look at the numbers in PAISD...... According to the Executive summary, March 13th of 2015 by Mr.Porterie the demographics are as follows...... PAISD is home to 9,045 students and 1,350 staff. Our district serves 77.2% economically disadvantaged students. The student demographics are as follows: 45.3% - Hispanic; 2.5% - American Indian; 4.0% - Asian; 45.3% - African American; 2.3% - White and 0.5% - Multiracial. The demographics of our professional staff include: 12.0% - Hispanic; 0.4% - American Indian; 60.6% - African American; 25.5% - White and 0.7% - Multiracial. What does this mean? Well, you take that roughly 2000 number turned in, and divide that in half...1000 boys, and 1000 girls. Then, arguably for athletic purposes. you divide it in half again because the hispanic community just doesnt participate in football. This isnt about black, white or brown...Its simply about numbers. All this info was copied and pasted from the PAISD website. With this being said I cant wait for the old rivalries to rekindle, its good for everyone, kids, fans, and the communities of each area. Good luck to all!!!!!

Total enrollment. Deer Park has two campuses- one enrollment. In GCCISD we have 3 high schools and an Early College High School. Then, we have POINT alternative. Not 100% sure how those schools impact enrollment. The Impact Early College kids can participate in athletics at the school they are zoned to. If I am not mistaken, that was one reason GCM was moved into 6A since many of those kids were added to their numbers.
