ah hell, I'll just keep going - I went to school during the day and worked, while my wife took care of our new born daughter....came home then the wife went to work at night, while I studied and took care of our daughter..........it really can be done....really!

can't help myself - my Dad died 6 month later with over $100,000 in medical bills. SO, I don't have a lot of sympathy for the whiners and lazy asses.

 

Edit again: AND - the kicker as if that isn't enough.......I was 19 (oldest of 8 children) the youngest was 3 years old when he died......

Just finished paying for my 3 daughters college education.......been paying tuition (last 6 years) and tuition AND room and board at Sam Houston State for my youngest........

Now I'll brag - this next check (tomorrow) will be my first check in 6 years without some form of college tuition, room and board or any other child expenses (cars, cell phones, auto insurance) will not come from my check - YES a raise for me and my wife......but worth every single penny to have provided for my OWN children and to have paid for their education....OURSELVES!

Did you seriously just type this? The Liberals have tried for 30+ years to pass Socialized healthcare legislation. They finally get to 2008 where they have a majority in the House and Senate and occupy the White House. So for 30+ years, and two years of occupying the Legislative and Executive branches, they had the opportunity to have a plan ready to go. And if memory serves me, Nancy Pelosi famously said "We have to pass it to see what's in it". And you actually want to question the Republicans who have offered and passed 30+ bills in the last 7 years to replace and/or help fix the Obamacare disaster. You are seriously out of touch and seem to be relying on Left wing nutjob media sources for your uninformed opinion. One glance at FoxNews would have prevented such an asinine statement.

As far as your second line. The reason college tuition has risen to the unaffordability that it is today is because of government "help". Once the government starting funding and making money available for anyone to attend college, the price skyrocketed. Why? Because the colleges knew the government was the source of funding, so they were free to unleash astronomical raises in tuition. Socialism at it's finest...and quite embarrassing that these bastions of morality college big-wigs would do their best to emulate Wall Street execs by ripping off the American taxpayer. This would not have happened in a less "compassionate" society. More people could afford to attend college if Capitalism would have been allowed to continue working without Socialist interference.

The biggest problem is simply priorities and commitment, or the lack of. When my daughters hit the age they started playing sports and participating in activities, I quit hunting and fishing. This was to create money and time for THEM.....I chose to bring them into this world, so I decided they deserved every second of my attention and finances...I just started back hunting a couple years ago (it had been 11 years since I last went)......but I've also been married to the FIRST wife for nearly 30 years (definitely not all easy years, but worth the effort).......PRIORITIES and COMMITMENT..........

This AHA is the 500 lb gorilla.  It was doomed for failure from the start, and the democrats knew it.  That's the reason they lied so much about it.  And Congress voting on it before it was even read (was it even in print - I don't remember).  Common sense tells me that that alone should get it whacked by the SCOTUS.  But if you just axe it, you're a heartless SOB.  Probably be cheaper to build a Medical Center in each town over a 100,000 population.  And we'll be stuck with the "existing condition" clause, as insane as it is.  That Medical Center could do Health Care for those who pay for whatever substitute, and for Medicare patients.  For those of you not on Medicare, be advised that a lot of Dr's do not accept it.  My wife & I lost two of our Physicians when we entered the program.  We get the Dr's who had a 1.0 grade point average lol.

Another example that I remember when this insane health care system passed, "If you think Govt Health Care is good, go to an Indian Reservation and see how it works".  I see it in Medicare.  Good Dr's don't want the hassle of the paperwork, or being second guessed by a Govt bureaucrat with a degree in Basket Weaving.

We're not all going to received the same health care.  The rich will get the best because they can afford it, no matter what plan, no matter what type Govt you have.  I'll never be able to receive the same care Bush and Obama will.  In Russia, Yuri Drinksalot a Yakut welder, will not receive the same care as Putin, or any other powerful, or rich, Russian.  

Also, there are hundreds of links on how many sign up for AHC, but it's not so easy to find how many actuall pay for it.  I bet there is a Hugh disparity in those two numbers.
