Names on the back of Jerseys

What schools in SETX have this and why don't more do it. If your on varsity then I think it should be an accomplishment to have your name of your family on your jersey. Thoughts?

Why not have in high school? That's as far as MOST kids will ever get. Is it a written rule?

Everyone knows the front of the jersey but if you have worked your tails off in 2 a days and you playing for your community why not.

For most of us it's cost prohibitive. 

Like someone said, focus on the name on the front of the jersey. You can't go wrong doing that,

Screen print is cheap. The name on the back means a lot as well. Some of you have a old way of thinking.

It's about team not individuals, just look at the teams that are successful. There is a blue print for success.

I know at least in the past many schools used the same jerseys for several years...names on them wouldn't allow this.

Correct, and when schools do get new jerseys every year, they give the old varsity jerseys to JV or Freshman.

We been having it, and its okay with me, we dont keep the same uniforms for 50 years like some schools do so some get to keep em after awhile.

Shouldn't be spending $$$ on new jerseys every year.  Should use the jerseys as long as possible and then recycle to JV and Freshman like somebody said.  Be responsible with taxpayers dollars

Against UIL rules for a player to "keep" a jersey. That is property of the tax players and giving them is stealing from the Tax payers

If you are playing for the community then the name on the front is all that matters. Individual recognition is why so many are "blessed" to receive offers from D3 schools on twitter. These dudes are obsessed with getting under some kind of spotlight these days.

I didn't know schools still kept jerseys after a year. I was under the assumption most schools get  new jerseys each year.

What most schools do it print a "strip" that is temporarily attached to the jersey and can be removed.

Still, not a viable expense in some districts.

It's a luxury item. If you can afford it, more power to ya.

Playing 5 plus home and 5 plus away, those jerseys are getting used alot!!!

It depends mainly on the Athletic budgets.

Most schools don't have Motiva and Valero, and others paying taxes to them.

Some ISDs cant pass a bond. I know one in particular.
