Englebert
I'm for secession regardless of who wins, but emphatically so if Hillary wins. When a socialist is able to win the last two presidential elections, and when a socialist is leading the polls in the presidential race, and when an admitted socialist comes close to winning the presidential primary, it is time for a major change. Englebert
Probably not, but if sensible people finally wake up and look at the direction this country is headed, then maybe. I'm praying for Hope and Change we Texans can believe in. Hagar

Exactly right, but as long as there are liberals and Democrats running(ruining) this country, God will be further pushed aside. They are doing their best to get God taken out of everyday life. So what if it offends some Muslim or Atheist that there is prayer in school or the word God is in the Pledge. They need to get over it as far as I'm concerned. The few. The proud. The Texans. Or, to paraphrase Shakespeare (and I use to think that was the guy who makes fishing reels lol). We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his shackles with me shall be my brother. And those in the rest of America shall think themselves accursed they did not go with us, and hold their little freedom cheap whiles any speaks who shed his shackles with us on Texas Independence Day. PN-G bamatex
Pro-secession sentiment has been growing in Texas for years, and it's going to continue growing regardless of this election's outcome. That 25% number, which revealed the number of people in favor of secession regardless of who wins, tells you everything you need to know. UTfanatic
Texas would have to fight a war to secede. The U. S. would never allow it. $$$$$$$ Texas does have the right to split into 4 states!

It would be something the Nation of Texas will have to work out. I'm worried that if we don't secede we will have to worry about people living on fixed incomes...present and future, not to mention the $20 trillion in debt we are on the hook for, not to mention all of the money going to services for illegals, not to mention all of the corruption in the Federal government, not to mention... I doubt if Texas would secede alone. Once a movement materializes (hopefully), I would be willing to bet other states would join. If not, I still would want to Texas to secede. bullets13
It would take another civil war. Not going to happen. Our biggest cities (Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, etc.), with the most people (and most potential troops in said civil war), are fairly liberal. Also, I'd say that the strongest push for secession is from the middle aged to elderly white male, the majority of which would be well above the age of being able to reasonably fight the war it would take to seceed. Considering how great things still really are for most of us (sure my insurance has gone up, and I'm upset about it, but I'm not signing up to kill other Americans over it), you're going to have a hard time building an army of Texans big enough to be any real threat to the US army. 5GallonBucket
It will be too late before the manipulated liberal followers realize the problem with electing socialist to offices. Eventually our freedoms will diminsh. And if Texas can secede lawfully there won't be a war. And given the large cities in Texas were most liberals are....would eventually leave the state as more conservative individuals move in. At some point in country s future there will be a major change. History history history baddog and RETIREDFAN1

And there was absolutely no way in hell the (eventual) U.S. could stand a chance against the British, the greatest army the world had ever seen. And the strongest push for liberty from England was from middle to elderly white males. This push was spawned from an overly oppressive government. I'm not predicting a secession, but I am definitely advocating for one.

We have many armed forces bases in Texas, but once the US pulls out all of their assets, we'd be left with a bunch of folks with regular guns trying to fight one of the strongest armies in the world, armed with fighter jets, bombs, etc. When the US defeated the British, the firepower on both sides was fairly even, or at least close enough to be overcome by the patriots. Only if the military is willing to fight against it's own people. I don't know if they will. Many in the military will be in favor of secession. Many will not care and would refuse to participate in the killing of fellow Americans. It's hard to tell. If the military goes full bore with the U.S., then yes, a militia victory will never happen. If it does not and stays out of the fight, I think secession will be successful. Currently I don't think there is near enough will from the people to secede, but the movement is slowly (much too slowly) growing. If the majority of Texans (and other Constitutional Patriots) decided to quit paying taxes, how would the government respond? Would the President send in the military to round up millions of people? Would the military comply? If the Constitutional Patriots banded together and decided not to buy goods from any company not in favor of secession, how would the government respond? If enough people joined the movement, I don't think the government and military could stop it. But this takes extreme commitment from the people, and I don't think the compassion is there yet.
