I noted Mayfield's helmet change a few weeks ago, and wondered if this was happening. Hope the kid makes the most of round two.

Remember, Legacy is a private school, so yes they can demand it and no, it is not illegal.

We can't even have different color hair. Dye it blue during the summer, but it better be back to normal come the 1st day of school.

BH has strict dress code policy. No facial hair, no stach, hair has to be above collar, can't cover forehead, and until last year, all shirts tucked in until 9th grade. So from k-8 shirts tucked in. They mean business on dress code round here. Lol

Is Legacy expensive? Can kids get athletic scholarships to go to a private school?

Not saying the Mayfields can't afford it...just wondering in general.

Am I to assume that Mayfield was removed from the Nederland team due to noncompliance to the dress code? Did all this happen over hair? Surely not.

How bout writing about some kid who is a positive impact in his community, or an A student, or hasn't had to transfer all over town. Those would all be nice to read.

Not hating on the kid, but this is not a story that needs publicity.

+1,000. I'm glad the young man is getting a second chance, but this is definitely a story that doesn't need to be on a public forum. Good luck to the young man and hope his offer from McNeese still stands. Everyone makes mistakes, and lots of times more than once. Time to move on and put this behind him
