Footballfan1209 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Sounds like Livingston switching out of the slot T might payoff for them. Letting their athletes run Quote

Letting their athletes run Yes, they spread the ball out and that QB #2 is an athlete. Their inside Def are big guys. If they had more kids they'd be tough Quote

I've always wonder why they ran that offense with some of the athletes' they have had in the past. I realize that was Randy Rowe's offense but you cant boxing in your athletes Quote

Footballfan1209 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 I think some people will take this score and be mistaken about how PNG handled Livingston. I still believe by switching to a more balanced and spread type offense they give themselves a better chance to compete. This game also showed the NDNS need to work more on their secondary. This might be one of the better reasons its nice to play the weaker teams first, it gives time to fix some issues before the harder games. Quote

If he doesn't make some adjustments back there we are gonna be in a bind the next few weeks. Sloppy tackling, no idea the ball is being thrown at them down the field. I hope it was a good learning experience for them and hopefully they watch it on film and correct their mistakes, boy it hurts to watch them give up a goose egg when the game is well at hand week in week out lol. class-99 Indians, PNGFan, NDNation and 1 other 4 Quote
PNGFan Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 A 5'3 DB against a 6'+receiver is not a good combination!!! NDNation 1 Quote

biaplayer Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 and this was coming off of a bye, smh. The boys have got to do a better job in coverage. I am getting a lil worried from what I saw last night. It was a mismatch height wise for sure, But the safety didn't do much better either. He is supposed to come clean that up, didn't happen Quote
FrodoNDN Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Did we go into prevent in the fourth? We smothered the quarterback all night until the fourth quarter. Quote
RoschonsBigBro Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Angelle and Jones from Memorial and the Nederland wr Connor Perkins will be able to have field days IF the ball can get their way. No speed or awareness plus bad tackling. Still is time to correct a few things like scheme, position and awareness but you can't correct natural attributes which these kids don't have. Can't teach speed, I don't care what any one says, speed is born and can be crafted to be better. You can give me the best teacher in the world, I am never running a 4.5 Quote

Stattrax Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Offensive line work and db help. Need to think about making a change at DB... I've put the eye test on every team in the district. I promise we are in for a tooth and nails battle till the end. Nederland, Central, and PAM, Vidor. Those will be difficult games to win playing like we are. Other than special teams, it appeared the improvement level from the Lumberton game was non existent. McZeal looked great. RJ is still learning. We need to eliminate the penalties. Bobbled snaps. We struggle with the read option. RJ made a few athletic plays on bobbles to save us. O Line looked in La La land some plays. All can be corrected, plus a move at DB... D line and linebackers played solid. PNGFan 1 Quote

Footballfan1209 Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 I understand the two platoon strategy but let's face it this is PNG and we don't have a bunch a D1 athlete running all around the place. You can't tell me some of those tall receivers wouldnt help us at DB. Quote
biaplayer Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 been saying it all along they should be going both ways, its got to happen Quote
