bullets13 Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 I hated to hear about Fernandez's death this morning when I woke up. He represented all that was right in baseball, and was my favorite non-ranger. He was arguably the best young pitcher in baseball, and had the potential for a hall of fame career. He also played the game with a joy that you don't see often, and it made him even more likeable. RIP. JWB 1 Quote
JWB Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 Very talented young man, and fun to watch...He'll be missed Quote
bullets13 Posted September 27, 2016 Author Report Posted September 27, 2016 Pretty amazing stuff tonight. Dee Gordon, one of the Marlins who appears to be most affected by Fernandez's death, lined up batting right handed for the first pitch he faced tonight leading off the game as a tribute to righty Fernandez. He then switched over to his normal left side, and proceeded to hit the next pitch out for a lead off homer. His only home run all year. Pretty cool! Quote
