At first, I was gritting my teeth at all of this "in honor of Skip" nonsense, but you three have actually made this one thread mildly funny. With that said, I hope you run out of positions soon. But if la Grange don't get a passing game it probably would be the same results The problem with LaGrange now, as it was then, is they don't have a strong supporting cast surrounding Dobbins. Quote
griff Posted September 25, 2016 Report Posted September 25, 2016 Tyler has more breakaway ability, though he is not a really a speedster. He does a good job fighting for extra yards. Draper only runs straight ahead, but he is stronger and harder to tackle. If I was a defensive player, I would rather face Tyler. With all of that said, one is not clearly better than the other. WOS for a half but it would be like when y'all played Foster...no two way starters, mostly seniors, substitutes. The bigger schools would wear y'all out. I believe you could win 5A Div 2 but after that...the roster difference would kill y'all. These are tough hypotheticals because I don't believe ANYONE in 4A stands a chance with y'all. Period. One other thing on my edit....money and coaching. Not to take anything from Coach Thompson but the bigger, richer schools facilities and higher priced coaching staffs make a huge difference as well. Take a trip up US 287 to the Kennedale area and look at the high school facilities starting with Ennis. You could put Da' Butch IN that stadium. Heck, I'm amazed at the little league facilities my grandson plays in. chukslegacy 1 Quote

skipper Posted September 27, 2016 Author Report Posted September 27, 2016 yes wo-s has a lot of stuff to work on and in time the kids there will hit there stride the coaching staff at wo-s is one of the best in the state I feel sure you will agree. if you have seen wo-s play this year you can see what what they need to fix and I feel the kids there will work there tails off to get it done .knowing some of the kids first had they will tell you in a heart beat they are NOT THERE YET.
