I know that this is not unusual in 6 man ball.  But how disheartening it must be to score 76 points and lose by 47 points!

You could have a lot of 100 point games in 6 man.  However, most are called very early due to the 45 point Merrcy rule.  This  one was certainly a shootout which likely took nearly the whole game to get to the 45 point lead.

From what I have been told, it is almost impossible to play good defense in six man football. It is mostly about outscoring the other team. I could be wrong though.

There are a lot of shutouts in 6 man football also.  So, you can play good defense.   Just depends on the players that you have.

It is not impossible to play good defense, but good tackling is vital.  With 5 less guys to help out, literally every tackle that is missed could result in a touchdown or a very long gain.

I was a head six man coach for a while. Playing defense is pretty tough if you don't have studs. One year down in Brenham, we had about twelve seniors and about twenty five rostered and won the TAPPS state championship by 45ing every team we played. Two years later we were down to nine boys and finished the year 1-9.  Teaching kids how to open field tackle is the most important thing you can do on defense (especially your cover guys).
