TURF

with all the football fields getting turf how come more schools don't have turf baseball fields. nearest turf field around is jasper and they had more games than they could handle last year.

BH softball and baseball getting it as we speak, Crosby got it over the summer, and I just read PNG is getting it also.

if beaumont would do what crosby is doing out by the butch they would have more games than they would know what to do with. if/when PNG gets their turf they will be the only field with in an hour of here to have a turf field.

Barbers Hill isn't too far either. I've always wondered why they don't build turf fields around Ford Park for 14-18 year olds. There's quite a few kids this way that play HS travel teams in Houston that would play with ya'll if it was out around Ford Park. We're half way betwwen Houston and Beaumont in no mans land. Lol

My son is a pitcher he hates turf fields he said when he is on the bump its insanely hot lol.  Plus in travel ball they have a lot of the box mounds when your 6'7 it messes with your stride

I don't think BH will have that. It will be a dirt mound probably and everything else turf. The lower levels is like that though.

PNG's field is being torn up now to install turf.  The original plans had them changing the direction of the field to be closer to the concessions & bathrooms, but from what I was told that was changed.

Wish Silsbee would get turf...HELL.. I would just be happy if they would get the football team to quit practicing on it and tearing it up ..smh

I do, but it won't let me load them. It's really nice so far. They added hills in the outfield where you can sit and watch, built new bullpens, nice green fencing, heard they were building locker rooms, and some added extra's. It looks nicer then alot college fields. Really excited for season to start.

Unfortunately heard the mound will be turf , I  Hear most pitchers hate that.  Tradenup, did you happen to notice the mound?

If BH has a turf mound I am sure it will be like the one UH and Tomball Premier Academy have, we played last year on the one at Tomball and our kids loved it.  I am sure BH did it right and it will be the same type of mound

Not in our area, but Vanderbilt University has an all turf mound.

Lamar is turf, except for the front of it from the rubber to the landing area.

They should build a stadium out there.  There is plenty of room and parking.  Baseball deserves the same attention paid to football.  There are plenty of playoff games locally to support it.
