Hagar Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This exemplifies the vulnerability of our internet services. Since so many of us rely on the Internet now in our daily lives (banking, news, directions, general information, etc etc), is this type attack a potential major problem? Like many old folks, my knowledge of the Internet, and it's many uses, is limited, so I'm asking y'all to inform me. What repercussions could we expect if the Net was down for a week, or a month? Hagar Posted October 22, 2016 Author Report Posted October 22, 2016 Okay you bunch of scoundrels. I'm asking for help here. I'm doing good if I can google the right thing. Let me show my ignorance - I don't know, when someone uses their credit card, does that transaction go over phone lines, or thru the Net? ATM's same thing. Can banks run without the Net? Btw, first attack more widespread than initially reported. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Quote
