Lol just repeat the title. You guys haven't played a team with a pulse yet. Let's not act like D1 is not harder. Henderson won over 500 games and a State Champions. It's not overwhelming but far from a joke. You guys are just reaching now.

I got it ......like two days ago. But, it's been fairly interesting and I have learned some things. Did not know WOS had only been a school since 78. Lots of quick success!!!

Actually West Orange and Orange Stark merged in '78  to become West Orange Stark.I don't think West Orange went that far back before that.I'm thinking around the '50s.Maybe someone could chime in that has the right info.

I thought it was 1977 they merged????

Indeed. We only have one losing season - either 1982 or 1983.

We did merge in 77. That makes the First graduating class 1977.

My brother graduated in 1977, as a West Orange Chief, his class was the last . So the 1st Mustang class would have been 1978.

The impressive thing to me is that they used to be a (old school) 4A school and be good and drop in enrollment and numbers and still be good.

Correct . First graduating class in '78, first team playing as WO-S was in 1977.

Another fun fact, (I know some WO-S fans probably know this)  but the first WO-S coach was Steve McCarty and he had a pretty good record with the new team that was formed.  Which leads me to the question, why did he leave in '80 ?  I know it worked out fine since Hooks was hired.
