District 21-5A FUTURE

If this is a duplicate topic I am sorry.  Just wanted to get some input on people's thoughts on the state of DISTRICT 21-5A for next year.    This year was a doozy as far as some very exciting and competitive games.

SPLENDORA:    Had their 15 minutes of fame in defeating Dayton ( if they played Dayton 10 times they would lose 9 of those ) ... caught the Broncos at the right time that night.   Look at the remaining games and they went winless in District.  Lost to Caney Creek.   ( FUTURE:   BOTTOM DWELLER )

CANEY CREEK:   Bad year after year..... Yes they beat Splendora ...... but got dominated by the rest of the district.   Don't see much promise in the years to come.  ( FUTURE:  BATTLES SPLENDORA FOR LAST PLACE)

KINGWOOD PARK:  Not sure what to think .....  Losing players to graduation is bad...but losing your Coach 2 years ago has caused the program to become average (Holly was a BIG LOSS).    Lots of work to do for this program to compete for playoffs.   (FUTURE:  6-7 PLACE COMPETITOR)

HUMBLE:     This is one of the most talent laden teams in the district...yet they cannot win the games that count.  Athletes everywhere.....Defensively usually in the top 3 in the district.  Offensively constantly unorganized and lost.   If the right person gets this straightened out then the rest of the district better watch out.   (FUTURE:  5-6-7 PLACE COMPETITOR)

DAYTON:   This season had high hopes attached to it in Bronco land.   New Coach ( Stewart disciple) .... 20 years in the playoffs....good nucleus returning.... young guns filling out the roster.......Seniors galore!!!!!   Not sure what happened.....out of the gate Splendora surprised the Broncos on their home field.    Not sure what the issue was with the Broncos.    Maybe they loaded their JV TEAM :) UP to prepare for the future.  Not sure what to expect next year with the loss of soooooooo many seniors.   (FUTURE: 4- 5-6 COMPETITOR )

PORTER:   Biggest surprise in the district.  Holley took the same kids that have not won much and made them a force to be reckoned with.  Upset of Crosby put them on the map and garnered them much need respect.   Coaching...Coaching...COACHING....... can change a culture of losing.    Loosing some very good Seniors will hurt the Spartans next year....But Holley is a veteran coach and will have them ready again for another playoff run.  (FUTURE:   AS LONG AS HOLLEY IS THERE THEY WILL COMPETE FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT  3-4-5  )

BARBERS HILL:   Can almost copy what was said above about Porter.   Coaching has made a big impact in Barbers Hill.  What should be most noted is they went from a wishbone attack to an all out Spread attack and have been very successful doing it.   IMO everything is looking up in BH.  Will have a good core coming back next year and should only get better from here on out.  Championship coaching produces championship results... Year 2 should see the Eagles battling out for the top spots in the district (FUTURE:   1-2-3  Will get better year after year )

NEW CANEY:  Back to back playoff seasons....something good is going on.  With the growth in the area this should be a consistent playoff contender.   The loss of Allison will be hard to account for but would be surprise of someone showing up out of nowhere to fill that position.  Cooper coming back is big.   Good scheme, good coaching, and consistent growth are the ingredients for success here. (FUTURE: 1-2-3 YEARLY)

CROSBY:  Until someone knocks them off the top of the district you have to put them at the TOP.  Athletes in the skill positions keep them on the top.  Down in the trenches on the offensive line this year , but they have and will only get better.   They will lose lots of talent this year , but as always they seem to have more waiting.  Teams in the district are starting to close the gap, but have yet to take the title from them.  Great coaching staff, great fan base, and awesome support from the top keeps them in the conversation each year for a deep playoff run.  (FUTURE:  1-2 YEARLY  )

BH Crosby both have good coaching and programs no particular order. NC like their QB a lot solid top 3 IMO. Porter excellent coaching seems to find ways to win. KP ran for 300+ on us figure they will be better with their best player coming back and a lot of starters coming back. Humble tons of athletes would be my dark horse for a playoff spot. Rest of the district will struggle to win more than 3 district games.

Smh we won 1 very close home game w/KWP,only win in Bronco stadium w/a 3a fb crowd,33 srs=12 more than all time.If Dayton can finish 5-5 in 2017 I'd say that was decent.Gonna be a good 2 yrs of hands on chins, everybody seems to know Dayt playbook.Still scratching my head how well kids played vs Crosby=the one time thinking we're making some progress.Picking Splendora for homecoming 1st dist home win trajically backfired as we looked dumbfounded to stopping 1 rb=same all yr,smh we must've given up a 300 yd avg vs rush.I've seen the JV play alot & w/ret starters coming back a 5th place finish that real fans are not gonna like is possible.Key=change defensively=Job #1 or we talking basketball season early again

Well I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but next year the Broncos will be one of the top two leaders in the district. A very good coach whom will have the rust knocked off and a very tough JV squad coming up to take the leading roll, with only one loss this year to ponder on, so I believe the key positions on the field will be talented far more than this year, receivers, running backs, tight ends, lineman, both offensive and defensive, and the quarterback. Preparation unfortunately for the Broncos have already started. As far as changes to coaching staff, well you'll just have to wait and see. But I know Coach Well enough to know that he wants to win, or he wouldn't be here. Mark my words, there will be a different Bronco team taking the field next year, who will pass on the opponent, who will run on the opponent, and who will put a helmet on the opponent. Go Broncos 2017!!!!!

Who to believe in those last two posts? liltex (the realist) who is picking a 5th place finish or the JV expert (the dreamer) who says they will finish top 2.

Inquiring minds want to know.

You'll just have to wait and see, but I've talked to a lot of these kids from JV, and they were ready for varsity this year, just didn't get the call, so next year they know they are gonna have to be leaders, and everyone of them will be prepared.

21-5a future isn't going to include alot of these teams.

Next realignment is going to look a little like this:

Cleveland

Splendora

Huffman

Crosby

Dayton

Barbers Hill

Humble

Kingwood Park

Baytown Lee ?

New Caney, Porter to 6a and I hear Humble isd might be building another school. Don't know if it would be in time for next realignment. Caney Creek to another district or stay in 21-5a.

94 you might want to stock up on Rolaids for next year. No JV team on earth will make Dayton a contender next year.

Next year they won't be a JV team they'll be the almighty Broncos punching opponents in the mouth again like we have done for years.

I really don't think that will be the case. Although their are rumors of a third high school being planned.

BH has  a lot back,  IMPACT players lost will be of course #10, but also #24 DB and #54 DL,  #54 has been a beast this year and will be a major loss.  They do return  IMPACT players,  # 36 DL, # 38 LB, and #5 QB, with 2 starting Wrs,  #30 RB along with a few other starters, so with what other teams are losing after this year and what BH has coming back, along with a great coach and a offense that has a year under the belt now, BH should be considered one of the favorites in the district, but Crosby has Williams and Humble has that soph QB that is a running machine, so going to be a competitive dist,

Hate to be a downer but if all the studs were on jv maybe they should have been moved up. Fact is usually the kids that are going to be the difference makers on varsity don't play jv. I'm actually thinking more like Liltex.
