Harbaugh will never leave Michigan for another job and Urban would be the next most untouchable.  Chris Peterson at Washington after those two.  Anyone else is theoretically in play although I don't think Saban would ever dance again.  He was not happy with the way things went down 3 years ago and took a lot of spinning to come out unscathed thanks to ol Mack Brown...

LSU drops out of Herman sweepstakes.  It seems the reason is he wouldn't be hurried into accepting their offer and they knew they couldn't win if UT does make an offer. 

Soooo, is Herman a done deal to Texas now or do we take our time now and do a full search as some really want?

I surely don't hold this year's losses by a totally distracted team bother. 

I have saying give me Fedora, Fleck, or Herman. 

After hearing the rumors about Mack Brown, I might drop Fedora. Mack is the reason we're in this mess.

Sorry dude - can't change "actual" history - Strong was the coach of choice after Saben - go back and read your Texas fans post on "Strong Coaching Pedigree" say pages 1 - 45.

I was around man he was not a "supported" hire he was the CHOICE (after the untouchable Saben but then again so is every coaching search now)  - but you are right he did not work out - hope ya'll have better luck with Herman.

In a related story, just how bad is Ketch?  He literally robs those who pay for his "info."  You could have paid PhatMack and I about fiddy cents each to tell you Thursday that was likely agent shenanigans.  I am guessing Geoff was really bad at connect the dots as a kid...

I don't know many people that "wanted" Strong.  Once he was hired, most were "supportive."  So I have to agree with BR.  Saban, Shaw, Briles, Fisher, and others were higher on most of people's lists.  But that's who Mack and Patterson wanted so that's who we got.

I think he might be the guy too.  A lot of really good ones got their start in the MAC...
